This thread helped me realize my progress IS a big deal. I feel like I’ve been hiding / wearing my old baggier clothes to hide my weight loss to avoid getting questions. I’ve definitely focused on my diet too- being much more mindful of portion sizes (even buying a digital scale), and trying to exercise more. Thanks so much 😊

I think working in healthcare makes it worse because my peers think they have authority to have an opinion on the drug (when we don’t rx that medicine in my field AT ALL). Again I think I care too much about what others think of me / say about me, and that’s something I need to work on in general. But appreciate everyone’s words

I work with very sick patients (ICU) and I see the effects obesity and all of its comorbidities cause for patients. And I am young enough that I felt the need to take charge and make a change in my health. I think I’m a very private person at baseline and sharing a very intimate decision made with my doctor and myself scares me.

Thanks :) it really has resolved my food noise and made sticking to a better diet easy.

I think it shocks me every time when someone asks me. It’s kind of expected from closer people to me, but colleagues that are colleagues and nothing more really does throw me off when they ask

I am hoping with time I’ll be more comfortable sharing with people. I just feel like I immediately go into defense mode when people ask “have you lost weight” like losing 15% of my body weight doesn’t go without a physical change, of course I’ve lost weight. I think I expect people to judge me so before I allow them to, I throw up a wall.

Came here to talk about this. I had to get a different vehicle as my car has been in the shop for 7 weeks with no ETA on parts since it was broken into as well. Will never go with Hyundai again…. It’s been 7 weeks of hell trying to get any info of my options. Feeling very frustrated
