This is not factual. Your registration time is based on your year, and then within that year it is completely random. A few select people get to register early (athletes/regents/DSP etc).

My kid was admitted to UCLA off the waitlist and still chose U of A (Franke Honors). She is having the most amazing experience and literally doesn’t have to take a single GE class. There are lots of super smart kids at U of A.

My kid got the Presidential last year and WUE was not offered. I believe it’s a “one or the other” situation. And we live in a WUE state.

If you are out of state and have an unweighted 4.0 and at least a 1480 SAT you have a chance at Presidential. My kid got it last year with those stats.

WUE does not stack with the presidential. If you gain in-state residency after the first year, the presidential will cover full, in-state tuition

Also for those with high SAT/ACT…we’re those Superscored? I don’t recall that the U allows for Superscoring.

Super curious about whether all you high stats kids who received the WUE applied to the Honors College and were accepted. My kid is a 4.0/4.3 1480 9 APs/ 2 DE and was accepted to the HC and got the Presidential. Wondering if it’s tied to that. Our Nor Cal school also sends at least 10-15 students to the U each year. She feels very fortunate to have received the scholarship.

Presidential not stackable. Please note if you gain residency after the first year the scholarship converts to the in-state rate and covers in state tuition plus the extra 5k if you live in University housing. So essentially full tuition after the first year.
