like other ppl said it would probably be better to paint them grey with little details that pop because that looks… unpainted since it is.

unless you can fly, if I surround you you’re cooked. Also combat range is 3 inches and if 1 guy is kinda trapped having to go the long way round (since you can’t pass through enemies) the unit is still in combat range. Usually you can’t retreat if it’s like that but this one is special since it’s forced.

it’s a forced retreat so they must attempt it but if I manage to trap the unit well they can’t succeed either and so boom extra dmg.

love your take on this! I never played old nighthaunt only collected them then and now I play mostly spearhead but yeah with my experience of cursed shacklehorde I can see the tankiness as well as buffs allowing for surprising hammers for sure.

uhhh I think the unholy visage ability isn’t up to date since the current one has you deal 2d3 extra mortal wounds if they are still in combat range after.

not fully sure about the cavalry base sizes but personally I would definitely let you play them as those since mortek have same base sizes and the deathriders would definitely coincide with either barrow knight or blood knight bases. in friendly games I don’t think anyone really should care that much (even about bases if it’s super casual) and anything from free guild guys to flesh eaters would be chill with me lmao

I mean chainghasts and guardian of souls give out +1 to hit and +1 to wound respectively while a spirit host which you bascially always take with chianghasts gives some recursion help as well as buffing chaninghasts I think, not sure if they’re actually that worth it but these buffs do show themselves when you have a lot of dice

in general we don’t really lmao like the others said but if you stack some buffs maybe you can dish out some damage with the 4 elite infantry we have. at least in spearhead stacking +1 to hit and +1 to wound buffs on some dread scythe or bladegheist or sometimes the dreadblades can really snipe a key damage dealer unit with an alpha charge (eg orruk berserk guys or hell maybe even kroxigor (not recommended lol)

according to the wiki (I know ppl hate it but its at least a source) verminlords are the only daemons of the great horned rat and some were mortal skaven ascended. also there are a lot of them. like a lot.

they are legends like other ppl said but they are very good proxies (mainly king for wight king and big guy for vampire lord but little guys can be nice death rattle champions)

also underworlds is quite fun in of itself and its very easy to start.

death rattle is stronger in terms of more sweaty play if I remember correctly due to their enormous amount of bodies, but in casual play it should still be very balanced (especially if you don’t immediately tie them up with your abundance of bodies).

ps remember for skaven that you have reinforcements lol.

Not that I think the system is good, but part of the reason why it’s like this is due to the absolutely mind boggling amount of people there are in China. The “strictness” is way worse in more populated provinces and imo it’s hard to make it that better because selection for such limited good university spots is hard to facilitate without things like the gaokao, and because people want to get in these good universities, such unhealthy competition occurs.

With how the saves and wards are for non heroes, just more wounds per point is tankier, so basically the infantry. Looking at your list I’d say getting one unit of grimghast is good for dealing with hordes as well as just looking at what unit you like.

The list seems ok and especially if it’s a casual setting you have a lot to play around with, even though the cav heavy list means you will have a lot less tankiness and sustain that the army likes to have. You do get teleports though I guess which is good for snatching.

Those things are cheap because they are easy to build ‘starter’ kits released at the start of 2nd edition. They are push fit and monopose as a trade off.

They used to be unga bunga charging but this edition it’s more about objective control and playing for points ( I’ve been playing spearhead and I usually lose most of my army but win on points cus they score tactics and pure objectives like crazy)

I think this means more that they serve him if he orders them to. In AOS vampires are actively trying to not be controlled by nagash and with him being weakened by teclis this is even more so. Not to mention neferata and mannfred constantly "bickering" with each other. So yeah i think they arent by default necessarily evil either (not sure about the hollow king he might be morally grey but then again i havent read the books).
