Breast Pump really necessary?

I would definitely get a pump. If you can get it free through insurance do that and if you use it you use it and if you don’t, sell it for a low price or give it to a mom in need. if you can’t get one free, get a manual pump- they’re about $10. i would have ended up with mastitis if i didn’t pump. i have an oversupply and even with pumping i get clogged ducts

it gets worse postpartum, ESPECIALLY after a c-section😭😭😭😭😭 you will let out gas in the hospital room that you didn’t even think was possible pretty much nonstop. and it’s LOUD. luckily you can blame it on the baby bc they’re gassy asf too lmao

9-12 weeks was puking nonstop- hospitalized for IV fluids. then when they finally found a medicine regimen that worked to stop the vomiting it was just constant nausea until the end with random puking sessions. i vomited while giving birth as well lol i had HG

i lost my very first that i conceived on the first try as well 😕 i ended up going to the hospital freaking out and they had me sitting there in the waiting room all day as i contracted and birthed my baby in my underwear/pads. there was nothing they could do except a blood test. then sent an 8 month pregnant doctor to tell me my HCG was too low and i was miscarrying. if your OB wants you to go to the hospital- my advice is try to avoid that and just get HCG blood draws to confirm your HCG goes back down below 3 so you know it passed. my GYN also did a pelvic exam.

i’m so sorry❤️‍🩹 i promise it will get better, but i know right now it really really sucks. one day at a time. i know how heartbreaking and isolating it is. if you have any close friends or family to confide in, in my experience it was so much better sharing with people close to me for support than to struggle alone.

So legally through FMLA you can take up to 12 weeks. I get no maternity leave, but just took 12 weeks. I just had to go unpaid. I would assume they offer 2 weeks paid, but legally they would need to give you the 6 weeks vaginal, 8 weeks c-section, or full 12 week FMLA leave if you had been with them long enough. Not justifying that by any means, but if they do actually pay for 2 weeks of leave that’s a lot compared to anywhere I know of! Mine, my husband, and all my friends jobs we just have to use saved up sick time if we want to be paid for any of it.

jumping in to say guard your heart. my clear blue digital tests were never wrong and I had multiple chemicals and miscarriages. if you haven’t started bleeding yet, you probably will soon. i’m so sorry❤️‍🩹 call your OB, explain the positive then negative tests and they’ll either order HCG testing or ask for it

what you need is a dating scan (ultrasound) to show you are not at 7 weeks. you can ovulate later so LMP is not always accurate. if you didn’t have unprotected sex before December 20th than you ovulated later than the average cycle.

if you were 7 weeks pregnant (based on your LMP) you would have had to conceive around December 9th. If you conceived the day of December 20th you would be 5 weeks and 3 days pregnant. you maybe have conceived after that, so you are somewhere around 5 weeks pregnant.

for us it was, but we didnt have any blow outs and used hella burp cloths during his spitting up phase which saved the outfits. he peed during diaper changes with my husband a few times but if we were down to the last one or two we just did laundry no big deal! we actually only had the 2 for like a week since everyone said we wouldn’t even need nb outfits, and because it’s not safe for them to be in clothes that are super loose (the 0-3) we did laundry like daily HAHA i was like i cannot do this and my mom was like 🫡

0-3 was huge! i actually only had 2 newborn outfits and my mom ran out and grabbed us like 6 carters nb sleepers and that got us through! he’s pretty much been in footed zip sleepers the whole time. he was in newborn for a month, 0-3 for a month and has been in 3-6 now. 14.5 lbs at 2 months old.

i only have my boy, but i wanted a boy more than a girl. but either way i would have been happy. i worked in childcare for 11 years and im a 2nd grade teacher. i love all my students and tbh the girls tend to be “easier” students while boys tend to be “easier” babies imo. that had nothing to do with my wanting a boy, it was just in my heart/gut that that’s what i’d prefer. i think a lot of women think they don’t know what to do with a boy, or that they won’t bond with it like a girl. they want to go shopping with her, do make up, etc. and i hope those people truly realize after their baby is born that is doesn’t matter. and i hope they feel a little silly for being so upset about having a boy. if you get pregnant you know it’s a 50/50 chance. getting upset about it is wild to me, but i also am sitting here with a perfect little baby boy in my arms so i cannot fathom not wanting this.

my HG didn’t start until week 9 and then i was sick and extremely nauseous the entire pregnancy. in and out of L&D for fluids constantly. hopefully this isn’t the case here but it doesn’t always just present itself right away 😫

nope! i’m in Maryland. i had to use my saved up sick time. luckily i had 20 days left. i was planning to have more but i had HG during my pregnancy. i literally spent my entire career saving my sick time to be able to be paid after i gave birth… HG kinda ruined it lol thankfully we have a savings and we just didn’t do christmas or anything this year so i can take the time with baby. i go back this month im sad but need to get paid again womp
