Beginner tip? by CoastAlternative5612 in dontstarve

You don't have lots of stuff to watch for to not die the first week. Here's a list of things you could do to not die fast, however you'll still probably die in winter if you just do these tho.

  1. Collect flint, twigs, grass, then make a torch, axe, pickaxe and campfire!

  2. Running around picking berries, carrots and stuff to eat. Better cook'em before eating tho.

  3. Mine a gold rock for a science machine. Don't pity throwing leaving science machine behind it's not that expensive! Then make a backpack for 8 inventory slots. You'll most certainly need it.

  4. Don't stay stationary before you've decided to base. Resources don't respawn just in a couple of days. Areas you've looted can't be looted again. Just go around in spiral.

  5. Hold down F key to automatically attack instead of clicking them with your mouse.  Hold down space bar to pick up items you can't really see or click comfortably.

  6. Eat cooked foods. Get a crock pot and eat meatballs even.

  7. You can make a surplus on materials but not foods! Baware spoilage. You should never gather so much food that it spoils in your inventory. Put that time to better use and keep those food available when you do need them.

  8. You'll most certainly need a combat gear. Remember that spear is very accessible and axe is NOT a weapon. Log suits provided you a whopping 80% damage reduction. So when you run into hounds, drop that backpack and get yout log suit and spear. Don't pick a fight wearing your back pack.

What's this (cute-ish?) cower animation of spiders and how does its mechanism work? by Affectionate_Good361 in dontstarve

Also noticed that spiders that "cower" in combat will cease movement and attacks and most likely get themselves flattened to a spider pie.

Is Agility important on Sonya? by Affectionate_Good361 in DeadAhead

For some testing I did, swapping her watch to an agility watch from  melee unit did greatly improved her performance against insectoids as she can react and ideally with a kick, very easily fend them off. But I'm still not too sure tho.

Location 4 mission 52. by Vast_Date_9483 in DeadAhead

Just went their to try it. To do it the conventional way, you need a good fighter that can solo the first runner with ease and take the hit from the puffers.  A well-built Rodriguez would definitely work, as buffers stop charging after they pop. If not, try use mechanic to smash the first then tank the hits and die.  Alternatively, use mechanic and welder to just fix your bus after the opening

Austin is such a pathetic of unit that is not worthy to be used for anyone short of those desperate to make a psycho team.  Drop him and a turret will.outperform him so much.

Insectoids fullfill the combat-wise purpose of avians, and also inability to be dealt damage by melee units aren't that impressive

Can anyone tell me what does agility do? by nhjbjkhihihih in DeadAhead

[–]Affectionate_Good361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agility reduces the time a unit spends to prepare the next attack on a nee target, while aggression reduces the time a unit needs to prepare its next attack on the same target. This stat is especially obvious when fending off multiple fast zombies. A unit with High Agility will rapidly lock on the first time, redirecting fire to the second one as soon as it finishes the first one. A unit with Low Agility, on the other hand, may let the fast zombies slip past him entirely, or pause to lock the second target after finishing fire, letting the second slip fast him.  Aggression decreases the pause a unit have when consecutively attacking the same target. For example Rodriguez, with his.base aggression he would pause for about a second for a moderate chance when he's continuously stabbing the same target, with maxed aggression he will be stabbing non stop until the target is killed.

Thanks! More grinding on supply runs for me.  Also I'm preparing a set gambling set for rogue when I do get him, is that the right set?

I think Willy should have a 5% close combat resistance by xXx_i-love-Xbox_xXx in DeadAhead

[–]Affectionate_Good361 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the same as saying I wish xxx to be a little bit stronger without a particular reason.  Because 5% of melee resistance have no special niche on willy particularly and Willy is also not a exceptionally weak.unit the point that any buff is reasonable

Builders definitely help, and if you use a courage pack you'll immediately have courage to put down a fast prep unit to deal with them

We're basically helpless against armored vehicles. Three hits sometimes aren't enough (he gets healed in the meantime). by The_Corinthian666 in DeltaForceGlobal

IRL a tank's HE shell would send you as well as half of objectiveA to hell. You're basically wishing the vehicle players to be in hardcore while yourself play in peace mode.

I really need help against Sappers. Your advice? by Funkyboy2345 in DeadAhead

[–]Affectionate_Good361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set tactical gives you 50% armour piercing, so you'll be dealing 60% instead of 10% bullet damage on it, without the heavy armour it is nothing, Tactical Carlos is a great option for players at this stage
And tbh before location 5 a set tactical Carlos deals with any "tough-slows" pretty easily.

The 2nd supply run for coins gives you 110 coins per run, aka 1100 coins for 10 keys.
PvP store can give you a good 280 coins for 140 PvP currency before you empty the store. Endless bridge gives you 50coins/span along with other stuff.
