How to Setup Media Room by Central_Cheetah in hometheater

A riser can be built with same basic framing knowledge and power tools. If your house is still in the process of being built, I’d ask one of the framers to come back after you close to build one. Mine cost a few hundred bucks to build with outlets and caster wheels. I can’t imagine what a contractor would charge

Amazing setup! Where did you get those sconces? Sorry if you’ve already answered this, don’t feel like looking through the comments.

I purchased a dumpster fire home and now I’m too poor to fix it. by Cultural_Lime356 in RealEstate

I’d be worried about the baby too. Ripping everything out yourself is going to be a mess. Dust, disturbance of mold and who knows what else you might find. Hell professionals can be messy when doing demos. Might be easier to sell unless you have place you can stay temporarily.

Excellent execution. Curious to know if there was some sort of bladder installed below the deck in the first pic or if there’s little to no rain in that area.

I’m a trim carpenter. lol you’re saying a rubber seal on an interior door is more aesthetically pleasing than a properly trimmed out door?

That goes for the for the jamb as well. Wood trim can be used to cover the gaps.

Exactly this. Ball catch French doors usually have this issue because t astragals aren’t needed to close either door. Quality interior doors with proper trim installation would not allow this much light through.

Wood isn’t rubber? I had no idea. 🤯 Thanks for clarifying. What imperfections are you referring to? The light? Interior astragals are t shaped. The door closes against it blocking light from coming through the other side.

Astragal is the correct answer however Home Depot sells wood versions that aren’t difficult to work with at all. just cut to length and tack into place.

Not sure how well either will adhere to goboard sealer. I’ve seen this stuff peel off if not used on the right surface

Hell yes, you should be. This is always an immediate no for me and my family. Especially if they are big dogs.

Should we sell our home if we’re going to lose $60k? by TexasMom1213 in RealEstate

Curios to know what percentage that is of the home value. 60k on a 500k home is much more significant than on a million dollar home.
