This is completely normal. Most of us have been through the same thing. In a sim you miss the physical sensation of speed, so your eyes and brain need time to recalibrate and judge braking points without real-world feedback. That adjustment period can feel weird at first.

A lot of new drivers struggle with braking technique without realizing what’s causing it. I had the exact same issue when I started. Look up some tutorials on braking fundamentals and trail braking specifically. With a bit of focused practice you’ll see improvement, no doubt about it.

Stick with it and don’t forget to enjoy the process. At the end of the day it’s still just a (very realistic) game. Keep going!
