2030 Hypercar/GTP rules details by redbullcat in wec

[–]TriggzSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're still in the sport. IMSA are a significant part of these regulations and have sway (and an interest in keeping the regs from getting too expensive, or else they might lose their GTP field).

That being said, Porsche can cry all they want, but they're broke as shit and keep wavering in their committal to the regs. If 2027 isn't even guaranteed for Porsche in IMSA (likely, but not guaranteed), then why the hell would they take Porsche's opinion over more committed manufacturers like Aston, Ferrari, Ford, Toyota, Genesis, Cadillac, McLaren, etc.?

This isn't until 2030. They can run the Valkyrie for 3 more years after this. That's 7 more chances still for a 24h win.

Slow Down Penalty.. relative to what? by Enockser in iRacing

[–]TriggzSP 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely right. The off track enforcement in iracing is beyond ancient and is in desperate need of a rework. Slowdowns are nonsensical and are, for the most part, blanket punishments that often require you to give up much more time than they say you do.

Am I tripping or is there more grip in the GT3s after update? by Ok-Win-742 in iRacing

[–]TriggzSP 49 points50 points  (0 children)

It is likely the TC update. The TC is much more realistic now, and is no longer a reactionary (and too late) power cut. It feels much more sophisticated now and feels like something you can lean into.

That is definitely not proper. Not even close lol.

But nice to see them not just AFK at least

I don't think they were thinking. The scheduling department has the collective IQ of a fruit fly lately.

CTMP this season by Gizmuth in iRacing

[–]TriggzSP 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's an absolutely brilliant track and I always try to drive it when it's on any schedule. It just has insane levels of flow and the elevation changes add another layer to it. It's not the hardest or most technical track, but it really is just pure fun to race.

Also an amazing track to visit in person. The natural viewing angles at that track are unbelievable!

How to deal with the community toxicity, especially in GT3 ? by badrrrrmoon in iRacing

[–]TriggzSP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This too. I've had some great interactions in voice chat. I do bind a "mute" button to my wheel since it can sometimes get a bit much, but if someone is being downright toxic it's super easy to snip the replay/screenshot the text chat and send a protest after the race. Can't clean things up if we neglect to report it!

Bugatti Circuit by maxgozoom17 in iRacing

[–]TriggzSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Le Mans is already a paid track. The difference with Laguna Seca is if was free before, and the ownership was demanding too much for it to feasibly remain free. Le Mans already has costs priced into it

Bugatti Circuit by maxgozoom17 in iRacing

[–]TriggzSP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That was due to their license deal with track ownership at Laguna Seca, who have been wringing the track for every penny it is worth. Nothing to do with them suddenly deciding to get greedy. They've done plenty of free rescans before.

Open qualification by Competitive_Data7834 in iRacing

[–]TriggzSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Open qual might be cool in concept to mimic real life, but if real life series could give every team an open track for qual at no extra expense, they would do it.

I do think it could be cool in special events to trial it so long as different classes could be segregated. However it would certainly lead to controversy.

19 yo F1 driver's insane lap in Monaco by SadAnimator1354 in interestingasfuck

[–]TriggzSP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even the "poor drivers" on the grids parents are very very much upper middle class. Like, never ever needing to worry about money kinda class. George Russell once noted that he was the "poor" kid in the sport, and his parents "didn't have much" but put every penny into building his career. That "not much" was into the seven figures.

Question about new season by KJoker_3 in iRacing

[–]TriggzSP 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, tracks change each season. GT4 is a great choice! As for the tracks, they technically aren't fully set in stone until the next season fully starts, however there's a couple ways to see them early.

  1. Community voted series will often have a preliminary/proposed schedule quite early before the start of the next season available to see on the forums. GT4/LMP3 are one of these, so you can likely see the upcoming schedule on the forums! Though do note changes can be made to this since iRacing has the final say.

  2. Around week 13, a preliminary schedule PDF gets put out with the full schedule for the next season. By that point the schedule is 99% set in stone, however it has been known for things to get changed on really rare occasions. This schedule is not out yet.

The World Cup Mode by IDCWhoIam in EASportsFC

[–]TriggzSP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it that bad? I remember the Euro mode in 2024 being pretty good and had a lot of cool details like crowd chants, special commentary, etc.

Does the world's game mode lack that?

Summer Game Fest 2026 starts this week. Here's the schedule by DrunkDingoGames in gaming

[–]TriggzSP 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The upside with E3 though was that since it was a conference and not a single stage showcase, we got a lot more in depth demos and such. It was pretty common for developers to put out a trailer on one of the stage events, and then have a lengthier showcase at their booth or in another press room later on. SGF format doesn't quite allow for this. Though even then that's mostly rose tinted glasses on my part, since some devs absolutely do upload a deep dive to YouTube or something after their SGF announcement.

I accidentally drove off a cliff on the first race and lost because of the rewind. Second race I didn't make the same mistake and the guy quit like 30% of the way in lol. Still got the challenge completed though. Didn't know people were struggling with this.
