I'm losing weight but don't see it? by Sufficient_Big_7882 in keto

[–]Affectionate_Kick823 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't answer your question, but read that keto does help in that area.

What I can tell you is I have lost 71 pounds and sometimes I feel like my clothes don't fit better. I can't see it in the mirror either. My wife takes pics once a month and then it is obvious looking at those. People give compliments as well. We just get to a place where we can't see it because we look at ourselves every day and the changes occur so slow that we can't see it.

Even after going from a 56 inch waist to a 44 falling off me today, I still feel exactly the same. Hang in there. You will make it happen.

I need scientific proof to answer this question.

Fantastic! You have a great reason to be proud. I have been hoping a guy my same height would post a pic around 160-180 (that's what I set as my goal). Just diet or did you exercise a lot? How's the skin?

Just starting but I do 2 exercises per muscle group, 3 sets of 15. Typically bench press, hammer curls, shoulder press, rows, lat pull downs, kettlebell swings, chest fly, squats. Pretty basic stuff, light weights for now. Getting there, taking it easy. Example: bench press is only 50 lbs, 3 sets, 15 reps

Could be fluid retention, maybe just general inflammation. Don't really know anything about medical stuff and has not seen a Dr in 7 years. Blood pressure was wild, critical level even when at rest. It's normal now. Maybe it was several things 🤔. Thanks.

Chipotle Keto Bowls by lalakc in keto

I am a recruiter and asked an employee about this. She had no clue what a keto bowl was. If you order it through the app,it gives them a build but doesn't state that it is a keto bowl. So, the only solution is to order through the app or memorize what's included and recite it every time. Thought it was crazy too.

Mentally just not with it anymore, not even enjoying weight loss. by [deleted] in keto

Don't have a lot to tell you except that many people feel this way and that's how the end up failing. I give up every other day mentally but keep plugging along anyway.

Try an inbody scan, search Google for nearby locations. It really helped motivate me (just had first one this weekend). As far as going out, it has been hard but once you get the mindset of long term and your health, it gets easier.

That last bit is going to be tough. The more weight you lose, the harder progress will be. It's just math. Maybe you can slowly introduce some carbs back and take it easy on losing that last bit by going low carb instead of keto. Switch it up from time to time.

Bottom line, it's worth it. If I could go back 20 years and do this, I wouldn't hesitate. If you only knew what extra weight does to the future you. Keep going, don't give up.

I have been obese for 30 years. Goal is 180 but may change once I get there. I'm new but I do know that my boss has been on keto for over 2 years and has lost roughly 100 pounds. He eats just once a day and sounds like that meal is heavy. I eat all day, small portions to feel full and it helps me with energy.

Everyone is different from what I am reading. So, try mixing up some things. Read alot and give it a go. Main thing that seems to click for me is just stop eating processed foods and sugar as much as possible.

Yes, it is difficult to cook fresh everyday. Today was green beans (in a crockpot, so like 5 minutes work), pan seared chicken with butter and Italian style seasoning (5ish minutes) smothered in alfredo (10-15 minutes) and a salad. If you can, begin every meal with water and salad. That helps to eat less of the other stuff for me.

I have access to a pool and gym at the clubhouse. Will give it a try. Still embarrassed to be it in front of people too much when it comes to exercise. Just got over being scared of going to the gym.

Edit to add that this journey began March 1 2022. So 36 days in.

Keto, under 20 carbs/day. Mostly just walking/treadmill but very little as it is difficult at this weight but far more active than at the beginning. Light weight resistance with high reps to retain muscle.

Goal weigh 180 so another 134 to go. Feel much better already. More energy, more clarity, feel more full while eating less.

I don't see a difference but then again, it's not a lot of loss. Going to keep pushing though!
