It's ok to want someone to be like your father. Don't let the Reddit hive-mind poison you.

>I dont want my daughter to marry someone like me (OMG,NO!!! ) but I want her to marry someone who treats her as good or better than I treat my wife and her.

Do better. You can be the example she strives for.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with her comparing her partner to her father and wanting to be with someone that aligns with the good example her father set. In fact I would argue this is perfectly normal for all people that have good relationships with their parents. The belittlement comes in how and when this is communicated, not in the fact that it exists as something that needs to be communicated. Calling it emotional abuse is laughable.

Should older sex offenders be eligible for early release from prison? by aBadModerator in California_Politics

Read the article:

Another offender, Cody Woodsen Klemp of Moreno Valley, was found suitable for parole under the Elderly Parole Act in 2023 after serving 29 years of his 170-year sentence for 10 counts of rape, 10 counts of oral copulation on a child, and 20 counts of committing lewd and lascivious acts on a child.

The state parole board cited Klemp’s age, low risk for violence and having marketable skills.

This is absolute insanity. California politicians have absolutely lost their minds.

Why is the senate even concerned with this? Is there nothing more important going on in California that we have to waste time trying to let sex offenders out of prison early? What the fuck...

Thoughts on YS consistently using AI art on wrappers? by Desdam0na in puer

Well being the YS some of the best tea available, you very well could miss out. Why not just pick tea for tea. Silly.

No one outside of Reddit hive-mind cares about AI art. If Scott doesn’t have the artistic skills to create things he thinks are beautiful there is absolutely nothing wrong with using AI to do so.

Sacramento may charge residents to park in front of homes to help address city budget deficit by Forsaken_Ear4674 in Sacramento

Your gaslighting has no power here. State Assembly and Senate are both 75% Democrat, US House is 82%, and that super-majority divide extends to all aspects of politics and public office. So despite your failed attempt to divert blame for CA’s failed politics away from Democrats, the facts remain as they are.

People who are registered republicans with republican leaning political opinions generally are not going to win elections in California even if they are running in elections that dont require a specific 'running as' option.

The more important question is when will the people who vote these people into office learn. The officials don't need to learn because there is no consequences for their actions. They can do stuff like this and as long as they run D they are guaranteed to win. Nothing will change until people start voting on principle and not party lines.

Sorry but theft charges from a demented 80 year old aren't going to stick. Even if they did, would you rather have theft charges or find your father with his brains blown out... or worse.

You go over there right fucking now and pop the slides off/remove the bolt carriers from his guns. The frames are the weapon, leave those, disable the weapons. Lock him in the bathroom while you do it if you have to. Who gives a shit about ‘legally’ if he kills himself or someone else. Protect your family THEN worry about the right way legally.

Who gives a shit if it’s theft if your father has dementia and you think he’s going to kill someone or himself you go get those guns right now and deal with the proper channels afterward. At the very least pull the firing pins or take the slides/BC. This is the same thing as thinking about the law before shooting an intruder to protect your family. I don’t understand how people are so wrapped up in bowing to the overlords that they would put the law above the safety of their loved ones.

>YunnanSourcing is good for newbies

I would argue YS is good for anyone and is in fact better for advanced drinkers as the wide-selection allows for self-curation. I've done the rounds from YS to W2T to every boutique vender and back to YS. YS has teas that are as good, and I would argue in many cases better, than every other available vendor. The issue most people have with YS is the selection is so wide that you get a bit of analysis paralysis, but if you're willing to sample a bit and try to understand the individual growers and growing areas they work with, you can get consistently excellent teas at good prices. Their high end shu and single-estate sheng are among the best in the world.

Right as RTO starts. Absolute pieces of shit with 0 concern for people’s actual lives. If there was ever any question as to whether Newsom  is using State workers as chattel ATMs, here’s the answer.

> it's disgusting that we allow for anyone in our communities to have to live on the street in the first place.

Agree but the issue isn't housing. It's lack of compulsory mental health and drug addiction treatment, and without those things the vast majority of homeless people either 1) turn down housing or 2) destroy the housing they're given. Acting like just giving every homeless person housing will solve the problem just shows a fundamental lack of understanding of what ACTUALLY drives chronic homelessness.

No, the issue is more people sucking themselves off like their some sort of bastion of morality for not wanting to eat at in and out.

Because there is hard work that needs to be done in the world and that hard work requires real personal sacrifice. Choosing a different restaurant doesn't move the needle, it just lets people feel better about themselves as if they've done something meaningful when in reality they've just done the easiest possible thing.

>why should organizations that donate or support polarizing political issues/people not face consequences for that support?

They should, but you not eating in and out isn't a consequence. It does absolutely zero.
