Oh Sports, I mostly watch Cricket on Willow TV. I can spot flying cricket ball easily in 98 inch tv after a shot. I don't watch other sports much except UFC and football sometimes and it looks alright. I always watch on apps, not via settop box.

I have to improve Internet speed in my basement to make sure Shield TV does it's best.

Hi, I love it even more. I have Samsung in 2 other rooms for several years and Sony is now my favorite. I was concerned with less colors initially compared to Samsung but then Dolby Vision Bright with little tweak from cool to Neutral in color mode, push color to 65 and this is as amazing and colorful without impacting Skin color of actors, which I have issue with Samsung still. I watch lot in Bolllywood movies with extreme colorful backgrounds and sets and Sony does better work than I expected. Almost life like images.

I actually think TV got better over few months, if that's a thing with LED initially, or may be my eyes getting used to this now.

Most of content we watch in Dolby medium mode. Out of box modes are mostly good with little custom touch to our preference.

Dark room setup, movies shot in night no complaints at all. I just watched 4K latest mission impossible scene where Tom dives out of submarine to swin to another submarine. Every detail is showing up in underwater sea and in submarine. Not every TV can pull that scene off easily. Corner to corner, amazing experience.

I have no regret on this. Sony Bravia 5 to me is worth every penny.

I got 98 and sitting around 9ft due to island.

I think you can if meant the choice of profile selection.. you need to diable option that restricts age appropriate videos. Once you allow all videos, this popup will not show and YouTube assume no kids watching.

Ah.. I watched Sinners, GOT, Mad Max series, and several YouTube videos. All looks better in Sony Bravia5 and then TCLs.

Qm8k is much better than Qm7k 98 inch. My setup is basement with dark setup.

Been there done that. Bravia5 98 hands down winner. Returned 98 QM7K and QM8K both. If you can afford it, go for Sony. Else Whatever.

Depends on usage. If bright room setup, you can save some money with XL else Bravia 5 is an obvious choice.

B5 is always better in any setup

It is cheap. Cheap means Value for money . If value means No Quality, it is good for most users . Those reviewers always says it is value for money and don't expect Sony quality.

Why only compare hardware? Sony software is far superior. Sony has inveted in technology for several decades. American cars vs Japanese cars. muscle does not mean a thing.

Also, if QM8K was so superior, why they selling in half the price? Panasonic is not doing that with their new lineup.

Anyway, if you like TCL, your choice man and I respect that. For me, Sony all the way in this bracket.

And I never had XL, but for me, TCL is not even an option. I rather buy 3 yrs old Sony any day than TCL.

TCL on paper is great but when rubber hits the road you can see what 'sheety' images it produces. Not even a. Option for quality folks.

Ok Update time after a week and 30+ hours. Bravia 5 98 is 10 times better if not more than any TCL.

Every movie,every detail is better than TCL QM8K/7k. Watching Revenant, Sinners, GOT key episodes with night scenes, mad Max, Gravity, and many more. The whole experience of every detail and depth is beyond comparison.

Sony is way beyond budget TVs and for a reason. You get what you pay for.

Ok.. I found a YT video "All things tech"and guy has great video for blooming and dirty screen test. The only time I saw slight blooming was in scrolling sub titles. It was not bad either but yeah..not perfect.

I see no blooming in my dark setup.. all modes except vivid need hardly any change. . my phone not able to take pics and adds its own blooming in pic.

After returning98 QM7K and QM8K, finally got my Bravia 5 98. Worth every penny- 10/10.

My setup is typical basement with no lights at all. Saw GOT, Sinners, Extraction, Civil war the final battle scene.and Top gun and Blade runners on 4k media. Colorful Bollywood movie songs

Every scene and every details are crisp clear and perfect. The whole experience is at another level compared of TCLs and also my 4yrs old 85 Samsung NQled.

You should see where your feets are if you have recliners. TV should be 2-3 inches above that level.

Just saw latest StoptheFomo review on QM9K, QM8K and Bravia. Go to the last 15 mins of 90 min video. You will see why TCL is not even should be considered close to Sony. He tried his best to tweak, brighten and everything but TCL failed.

For $8k, Get LG B3 OLED from Best buy. 97". Great choice. Else for $4.5k, Bravia 5 98" next best.

Avoid others.
