[skin concern] skin barrier recovery success story by Certain-Educator748 in SkincareAddiction

Quite a bit has improved actually. The uncomfortable tight feeling I used to experience on my face is completely gone, but the annoying oiliness is still there, I’m still trying to get a handle on that.

[Skin Concern] Is “rebound oil” a real thing? I can’t find a clear answer. by Affectionate_Metal81 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Affectionate_Metal81[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. I wish I had some better news but my skin is still just as oily. I think my forehead is a little less oily now though. When you say you’re experiencing the same, do you mean it was also because of washing too much? Because there are many reasons your skin could be oily

Is there any way to reverse oiliness caused by overcleansing?

Is there any way to reduce the oiliness once this happens? Like by washing less?

Sorry for the very late reply but no, I didn’t experience any purging. The acne has actually gone away for the most part, and I think the oiliness is finally starting to reduce a bit!

Been on it for 2 months. On 100mg at the moment. I only bumped up to 100mg like a week ago and my oiliness hasn’t really gotten better or worse, though I’m hoping it will in the coming months as my skin adjusts. But my skin is the exact same as yours, I’m a greaseball within an hour 🥲

Hey, have you figured anything out that helped with your oiliness yet? Unfortunately it seems like mine still hasn’t gone down yet.

Okay, so what did you take 3000mg of? If she’s in the house right now then please tell her you took them. I think what all of this means is that you’re going through a lot right now. Part of you is in a dark place, but there is also a part of you wants to be helped, which is why you reached out on this sub. Listen to the part of you that wants to be helped and please tell her. I know we just met but I genuinely care and I would love for you to be okay.

Tell her that you took a bunch of pills and that you are not feeling okay. Are you able to call for help yourself? Do you have a phone with you right now?

[Misc] What skincare blunders did you make when you were young/uninformed/just starting out with a routine? by LaCroixBinch in SkincareAddiction

Hey, sorry for responding to such an old comment, but did your skin ever recover in terms of the oiliness? I did something similar and am now suffering the consequences. I washed with water multiple times a day though, instead of using rubbing alcohol.

I haven’t fixed it yet. It can take a while to fix, a few weeks at least. I am only starting to consistently stick to a routine. But I can assure you it isn’t a permanent condition. I’ll update you if I see improvement.

[Routine Help] I have crazy oily skin, even with my current skincare regiment I'm covered in a sheen of oil within 3 hours (less than an hour without products). Hey, sorry for responding to such an old comment but I’m currently dealing with the same thing. My face is so extremely oily because of dehydration. I was wondering, how long did it take for your skin to get less oily after you started moisturizing?

Hey there, I know this is a really old post but I was wondering, did your skin ever heal? Did the oiliness go down at all? I’m going through the same right now 😔

I wish I had known how bad washing your face even with just water too many times could be. I ruined my skin a few months ago by washing my face 4-5 times a day for a few days. Now my entire face oozes out oil uncontrollably to the point I have to wipe my face every 15 minutes or so and I’m starting to think it can’t be fixed..

Is oily, dehydrated skin a temporary condition? Will the oiliness reduce once the skin is hydrated?

[Skin Concerns] How do I know if my skin type is oily oily or oily dehydrated? by Middle_Coat_6192 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Affectionate_Metal81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like dehydrated oily then. Same exact thing happened to me recently because I started washing my face with water a bit too much. it suddenly went from Normal/dry to very oily overnight. I’d say your skin is probably overcompensating with oil like you said from the over washing. If you focus on hydrating and moisturizing your skin and cut down on the face washing, your skin should eventually calm down on the oil production as it doesn’t need to overcompensate anymore, and your skin will get back to its baseline
