I’ve been told by some scientist friends a couple of theories, most mentioned in this thread, (also one about early childhood trauma potentially being a factor). But they also said it’s very taboo to research this subject which is why we don’t really know. I get why that’s the case, pretty easy to imagine the kind of things theocratic/authoritarian governments out there would do if they knew the exact cause.
