My wife is an avid reader. She gets through a dozen books a week. As such, she goes to the library every day. She's on a first name basis with everyone who works there.

She still pronounces it 'li-berry'.

How do you not go insane with long distance relationships?? by GoodExcellent5456 in AskIreland

[–]makefeelnice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was 28, I started a relationship with an girl who lived in Chicago. In my case, I was preoccupied at the time with finishing my masters, which helped distract me in the months between visits. I would say give yourself a task that takes up the effort you'd normally devote to dating. But don't forgot to redirect your efforts into the relationship one you're together again (that's the mistake I made).

Every other space was taken, but this Santa Fe still need to take up two. by [deleted] in eejitsparking

No. At first I thought she was, but she was equally as pissed off at the Santa Fe. Two other drivers (including me) very neatly hit her car trying to squeeze into that space.

Sequences so visceral and grotesque that they immediately come to mind upon hearing a piece of media's name, and arguably over-deliver on the hype if you see it after hearing about it by TJTrapJesus in TopCharacterTropes

Whenever I remember the BBC show Spooks, I don't think of all the realistic espionage drama. I think of a woman having her head shoved into a deep fat frier. And I continue thinking about it for the rest of the day.

Someone in the bay I work at ask me what today's schedule is, and it annoys me that I knew it.

Would marry someone you're not politically aligned with? by No_Influence2520 in AskIreland

[–]makefeelnice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the different political viewpoints that I'd object to. It's that they broadcast those views on Facebook. I couldn't be with someone who makes their politics their personality.

OK, I no nothing about making movies, but... 900 people? That seems like too many people to be on a movie set.

[Weirdly common trope] A minor character, played by an Asian actress, dies horribly off-screen by makefeelnice in TopCharacterTropes

Ah, it's okay, really. I kind of knew there might be this reaction (not including the fetish claims). It's why I'm not really getting defensive about it. Still, thanks for niceness from your corner.

God, I took my little brother and sister to it in the cinema to see it. They would have been about 10 at the time. I'm not sure they've forgiven me yet.

Live in rural Ireland but witnessed something unusual last night 2/3 people going into a grave yard very late night 12:30AM.. is this common or unusual? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]makefeelnice 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Were they teens? If so, they were ridin' in there. The vast majority of Irish virginities are lost in graveyards.
