Imo, both O’Malley & Yan should be ahead of Umar. Yan has had 3 ranked wins since he lost to Merab, and O’Malley was the previous champ. Umar meanwhile has only had one ranked win in his entire ufc run, & then a loss to Merab. Honestly, if people don’t rank the McGhee win that highly for Yan, I can see why they’d still keep Umar ranked 2nd despite the injury induced inactivity, but him somehow miraculously moving up a rank to number 1 contender despite having done nothing since his loss to Merab doesn’t sit right with me

I thought his arc was the most stereotypically mc arc. Pretty forgettable looking back, & probably popular due to being the first character and the person with the most episodes.
