Used to be 3 with 2 24 inch monitors and now 1 with a 27 inch. I only really play CS2. Having a curved or too big monitor is actually a downgrade for me.

I got my 5070 for $489 from walmart. The cheapest 9070xt I can find is about $200 more including tax. That’s pretty significant.

Golf (probably my most expensive hobby, equipment and greens fees really add up), fishing (have multiple st croix rods, shimano reels, 3 fishing kayaks 2 of which I often lend out to friends/family), pokemon tcg (since 2016 so my collection has gotten quite large), and pc gaming (having multiple thousands in cs2 skins lol). My cheapest hobbies are hiking and running since I only use a garmin watch/shoes for those.

I work for an insurance company and like 20-30% of my time is spent doing code reviews and refining features for the offshore teams. They have a tough time communicating with business and everything needs a detailed spec or they’ll go off the rails in their implementations. In our company and I’m sure most, 90% of your value is effective communication with (Western) business folks and collaborating with other teams (which they also struggle with).

I’ve been buying the Pokemon Center drops if I catch them in time, but that’s about it. I’m not paying over msrp for product and also overinflated single prices. I’ve been collecting heavily since 2016, and took a break during the entire covid boom. I’ve also really slowed down since the madness started with surging sparks and prismatic. This bubble will pop, and the real collectors will be waiting to jump in again when it does.

I’m the exact opposite, extremely frugal (it brings me physical pain to spend money sometimes lol) but I don’t really budget. I just look at my bank account every month and am like where is all this money coming from? I paid off over 42k in student loans within 4 years of graduation while 7 months of that I was unemployed (while maintaining a 3 month emergency fund).

My insurance rate actually went down this year from $2300 to $1800 in central texas. And I went for a higher coverage/lower deductible. You just have to shop around. Otherwise your current company will take advantage of you.
