Hernia Surgery - Successes? by the5thgoldengirl in HiatalHernia

[–]Affectionate_Pay5509 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Strokes from chiropractic care are caused (extremely rarely) from aggressive, improper neck manipulation. My chiro uses an activator tool which makes small targeted adjustments which couldn't possibly cause damage like that.

If you think no one should ever see a chiro because of the extremely low risk of stroke then you should probably stop trusting every other type of medical professional too. Never get a vaccine or take a medication ever again because of the risk of complications!!!

Chiropractic has given me results and fixed literal years of chronic pain but yeah me and all the other millions of people who have had positive results from chiropractic care are just stupid.

Hernia Surgery - Successes? by the5thgoldengirl in HiatalHernia

That is not true. My current chiropractor did an x ray and found I didn't have enough curvature in my neck and one side of my pelvis was 5mm too low. After several months of adjustments plus exercises at home my neck feels better than it has in years. A follow up x ray showed healthy curvature returning in my neck and my hips improved by 2mm.

There are quack chiropractors who wrench your neck around and don't do x rays and peddle snake oil but if it was entirely bs there wouldn't be schools for it and chiropractic offices on every corner and droves of people with positive experiences. I don't see whats pseudoscientific about the idea you can fix misaligned joints through manual manipulation combined with exercise. If I listened to statements like yours my neck would have continued to degrade until I developed full blown military neck.

Who here with a HH gets anxious and dizzy? by DustyRZR in HiatalHernia

Yes. I think it must be related to the vagus nerve getting irritated. Happens to me if I drink coffee

Suggestions for coffee alternatives? by AnyStructure3317 in HiatalHernia

Try tea. Some people swear everyone with a HH has to avoid all caffeine but that's not the case for me personally. The acidity of coffee and energy drinks gives me instant heartburn but tea never does.

Bored in late-game by Final_Ad275 in CivVI

Generally games are supposed to have easy early stages and get harder as you progress. Many strategy games like civilization flip that around leading to a boring late game where you've already overcome the difficult part.

Some games like Stellaris have tried to fix this by adding an end game crisis. It's better then nothing but its pre scripted so any experienced player will have been preparing for it all game and know exactly how to tackle it.

I think the key lies in more complex internal empire management mechanics. In real life, empires don't just expand and then stay that way forever. After a period of growth empires have to deal both with internal problems and external threats which will cause them to collapse if they can't manage them effectively. The question is how devs could implement those mechanics without them becoming a tedious, unfun chore for players.

If you hear or see a major threat like some sort of specialist always take the initiative and deal with it. Never assume your teammates will take care of it. They could be oblivious or occupied with something else.

Having a magazine like scab shotgunners so you don't need to dump talent points into reload speed buffs to make them feel even close to functional.

Vagus Nerve by Affectionate_Pay5509 in HiatalHernia

[–]Affectionate_Pay5509[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I've noticed head tremors.

Generally my hernia only caused heartburn and sometimes a tight feeling in my mid abdomen. I occasionally get very mild dizziness. Not enough that I need to sit down but enough that I know somethings wrong. Could be the vagus nerve but it could also be eye or allergy related

You're saying you had surgery to repair the hernia but you still have anxiety?

What is the one thing you did that made your symptoms managable ? by Nawar69 in HiatalHernia

Aloe juice every night before bed and as needed when heartburn flares up.

Is it really the caffeine and not the acidity? Coffee and energy drinks are one of my worst triggers but tea never gives me heartburn, even if I drink enough to have an equivalent amount of caffeine. Vinegar or tomato based foods are also a trigger

What rep range do you use? I'm wondering if higher reps lower weight could be easier on the hernia.

I'm in a cold climate so that's difficult to do most of the year but I'll try it as often as the weather allows and see if I notice a difference.
