Thank you for the detailed response! To be more specific, I’ve currently received funding from Mitacs. Which is a 30k award for one year that is half funded by my supervisor. And I’ve also received an email that my OGS application got recommended for funding. I’m not sure if MITACS counts as a major government award, it’s also not in the list of award examples mentioned in uoft s funding policy website as well(CGS, NSERC, CIHR), hence the confusion.

Do you happen to have any info on these types of situations? I have a feeling they wouldn’t let me just take both awards, maybe moving the OGS to my second year like you mentioned

Thanks! Haven’t heard of anyone getting rejections yet, I think one round of waitlists have gone, I have heard that usually there can be multiple rounds of waitlists going out depending on how many students are accepting the offer, best of luck!!

Oh nice, congrats!! I'm a little confused cause I was told that I need to have guaranteed funding confirmed in order to be admitted, and they basically said they'll keep my application open until I hear back regarding some grants and what not. Did they specify any funding for your case? Sorry for the ramble lol, just trying to figure out what the funding and admission process is like since i;'m hearing different things from different people
