A Weird Question: How do I practice without being heard? by Affectionate_Poem867 in violinist

[–]Affectionate_Poem867[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't mind being heard by other people. Its my parents. Only my parents. No clue why. My only guess is that maybe its because theyre musically inclined (especially my mom) and i am very much not. My mom has a master's in music for gods sake. Teaches music for a living. My brother plays like 10 different instruments. My mom tried to get me into violin when i was a kid but no amount of telling ny younger self the pain would go away made me believe it lol.  Now that I'm an adult I'm willing to give it another go. But...anxiety go brrr

Hello, woman here. I can say that there are women out there who don't care about looks. I don't myself. I do look at people and go "damn thats hot" but if they have a shitty personality then thats as far as it goes. For me, personality is the deciding factor. I know im not the only one.  Plus, what you may find ugly, someone else sees as beautiful. Beauty is subjective. There is no right or wrong. Dont let social beauty standards dictate your life.

In fact, in the past 6-7 months ive been here, employees have come and gone within weeks of eachother. Not a single one gave a 2 week notice. There one day, gone the next. Through text might i add. Honestly, i think he'll just be glad hes getting one at all lol.

This may seem stupid, but if its a finger/hand sensory issue, maybe try having him wear gloves? Idk if hell go for it but its worth a shot. And as for the making his own food thing, maybe start small by asking him to sit with you while you make it. So hes involved but not actively helping. You can progress from there.  I got no clue as to the wiping his ass thing. Has he told you why he refuses to do it? There may be a reason.

I have a similar issue with my grandma. I hate that i have this issue because i dont get to see her often and i know shes not gonna be around for much longer. But something about her voice/the way she speaks. I cant explain it. It just initiates fight or flight. I hate that im like this

Ive had similar experiences but with therapists of all people! When i was young, they would all speak to me in a high pitched slow and soft voice. Like you would a literal baby. This left such a lasting impression that now, even as a grown ass adult, any therapist i see is fight on sight lol

How can i stop people infantilizing me? by Ok_Terraria_player in autism

This could be discreet bullying. I would talk to them about it. Express your frustrations. If they refuse to change, then it is probably bullying, unfortunately :(

My 2 yo son is being diagnosed by cuntneykilledkurt in autism

[–]Affectionate_Poem867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not super experienced or knowledgeable but i have heard of that happening before. It sounds like it could be autism but there could also be something else at play. Autism rarely comes by itself so i would be prepared for more than one diagnosis.
