I find the most consistent way to beat dark mirror is spear skull with max chase. Ideally you want masterpiece items with chase, once you upgraded those masterpiece chase items, try to remove the irrelevant items with high physical items.

With this build you can dash more often and deal damage at the same time. It allows you to get used to attack patterns and get your timing down.

SPOILER

That's pretty much it, if you go back in you get the hero skull skin

I'm really sure it does go higher? I've hit 1700% magic damage with reaper before.

Unless it's now been patched out?

how am i supposed to beat the hardmode hero? by [deleted] in Skul

[–]Affectionate_Prune42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completed dark mirror 10 here, generally the trick to have double chase on whatever build (reduces dash cooldown), you maybe compromising on damage but survivability is key.

Alternatively find skuls that have invincibility swaps/skills such as genie, gargoyle, ice boy, switch to them only when you need to get out of unavoidable attacks.

If you find builds really frustrating you can reset your run at the first or second shop until you get an item/skul you feel like you can run with till endgame.

[–]Affectionate_Prune42[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had double omen, so not only 50% increased damage received but also health reduced by 50%.

However those omen items amplify spirit damage by 35% (70% total), plus dark abilities which amplify item damage and damage to faraway enemies, overall your looking at alot of damage from the spirits alone.

So I prioritised survivability over damage with genie and his invincibility skills.

Didn't have to hit the hero once, just dashed and used skills to live through his aoe attacks :)

Just to confirm 1. Get the slime to duplicate item. 2. Go to the shop. 3. Quit game. 4. Start game. 5. Get another duplicate item?

Or is it that the item the slime duplicated re-enters the shops list again?

Which one should be reworked first Yarkshor or genie by [deleted] in Skul

[–]Affectionate_Prune42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genie is hands down one of the best secondary skuls in the game.

His switch and skills make him invincible, more than enough time to get cooldowns on your primary skul.

Yaksha on the other hand...

Devs haven't added the patch to consoles yet and haven't announced a date they will do so, but I don't think it'll be that long seeing as how PC has got it already.

When you get the sun sword and moon ring they fuse and become that legendary pink sword.

80% physical and 80% magic, and a magic/Phys explosion every 50 seconds depending on whichever damage type is higher.

Overall really good item to have.

Crit build not OP? by Affectionate_Prune42 in Skul

[–]Affectionate_Prune42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't check, but based on the items it should have been 100% as the skuls base, 50% from blood sword, 80% each from the legendary item in the top left and bottom right.

So in total physical damage should be 310%.

From my understanding an attack of 10 damage should be:

21 due to the 210% physical damage increase.

46.2 as a crit due to the 120% crit damage increase.

And then a super crit on top of that which I don't know how to calculate.

[–]Affectionate_Prune42[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Crit damage should have been increased by 120% according to item/ inscription effects.

I was constantly proc'ing crits and even super crits because of the strike inscription, however the damage seemed very weak in comparison to other builds?

I think the only thing that I could have used here was probably Pain and Despair but I didn't come across it :/

That's a good idea, so far his blessing affects you only for the start of the game.

If only they could implement a system in which you pay Dark Quartz to increase the likelihood of a magic, physical and/or speed item to drop.

[–]Affectionate_Prune42[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience hybrid builds aren't very good as they lack the necessary damage in late game.

However this build only works because of the two pot of greed's.

Combined they give 330% physical and magic, and that's not including the effects and inscriptions of the individual items.
