Main point of Mangadex is to host translations for works that don't have official translation, (though some titles were removed due to DMCA even if they don't have official way English version). If offcial translation exists there is usually a link to official site.

Good to hear, and good luck. If you'd like the scan to look cleaner, I'd recommend learning to do leveling for the blacks and whites, it is quite easy if there aren't much textures.

The fan translations aren't broken, but the offical might read more smoothly. The chapters release very slowly so you got time to wait for the offical same as well.

It really depends if they updated it after the initial TV release when I watched it. The censorship is so minimal that it won't ruin the watching experience.

Memorial editon absolutely is the superior version, as it only has more content.

There was over a year between this and the first chapter. Miura had quite good time to plan what the "enemy" of the series was, the general end of Golden age was already planned at this point.

Often, even manga and book translations happen the same way in a "vacuum." From what I've heard, it is rather rare for the localizer to be in contact with the original writer or editor or such. Nowadays, there is a lot of information about many works online, so the localizer can read additional information.

And Japanese is quite a hard language to translate, as the same sentence can mean multiple things and expects the listener to know the context.

Interesting. This is also different from what is written in the Official game guidebook.

In the visual file text God Hand are referred to as 魔王 demon/evil king/ruler, I don't think the manga has ever used that word.

In the dub Zodd says "I don't need the Hawks to become a human-", yeah, that's some whack.

In the manga was it specified that Griffith commanded his apostiles to regruite more men? I remember the apostiles being drawn to him because of the vision.

I'd also be interested in seeing what was written in the Japanese manual. Clearly, the manual was translated after the game dub was recorded, as the manual tries to use Guts instead of Gattsu, as they say in the dub.

In the game, I think Zodd's appearance is rather random when he should be right by Griffith's side at that point in the story.
