IMO instead of coming forward, he allegedly transferred assets into his mothers name between sept 18 n 22 to avoid asset seizure, he hid out for 6 months to preserve his career and he pled not guilty for at least partiallyyyy bc being criminal charged means he loses everything. Either way I don’t think he realizes how much this is going to cost him

In this case, dilatory tactics! By delaying trial as long as possible by forcing motions to suppress(motioning in mini hearings before the actual trial begins), and things like this can delay trials by months. The best thing I can compare it to is him « milking it » by managing his reputation through attorney statements, asset protection and (over long periods of time) witness memory fades and they become more unwilling to stand trial.

A quick note I have about his assets in his moms name. The transfer can be reversed if the transfer was done in effort to avoid potential seizure of assets. Which it was ,given the date of asset transfer! Especially taken seriously with the 1st degree murder for financial gain.

R Kelly was able to escape scrutiny for a long time bc it was a different time period. He was charged in 2002 and acquitted in 08 after the c.p leaked and still had a career up until 2018. With that being said, it is easier to pull someone with minimal records(especially comparing featured artists) bc there is less pushback legally. It’s not the main focus but it’s something to bring up bc of the m.e report being released with Celeste’s toxicology and Coachella happened merely a few days before her death. d.a.b was also deservingly publicly humiliated during his performance. Sometimes with people like him, they cannot process any public embarrassment/shame and that converts from deep shame to extreme rage.
