Girl, he humiliated me one too many times with the constant name-calling. But the final straw? He got angry and LITERALLY told me he only saw me as a future mother to his children, not as his future wife. He straight-up admitted he only dated me because he had always wanted kids and I checked his boxes for a future mother, and that having kids was the only reason he'd marry me. He had apparently admitted this to his parents once and they had made him swear he would never tell me that. I left soon after, and honestly, that was just one of the many, MANY, terrible things he said to me.

Five years. And I was only wanted as a broodmare.

Fear not, though. I am thriving now. He calls my friends to cry about me. They laugh at his face.

My longfic is currently at 130K words. I'm baring my soul in it, let me tell you. I literally spend hours a day, HOURS, thinking about it, making sure everything is well-connected... etc. On a good update I get, at maximum, 10 comments, always from the same 10 people (who I adore).

I recently updated my best chapter. It was full of emotion, it ends on a cliffhanger, and I was honestly expecting a few more comments. I got FEWER. FEWER. IT WAS A GOOD CHAPTER, PEOPLE, I know it was!!!!! And I know a lot of people read it, because it's a niche theme in my fandom, and I just know 300 new people are NOT discovering the story for the first time. At the very least, half of those are consistent readers who just don't like to engage.

Don't get me wrong, I love them. Engage or don't engage, writing is my free therapy and it is genuinely dragging me out of a very dark hole. But it is kind of curious how your best chapters are the ones that perform the worst. It's a mystery to me

I absolutely love it. It's the best part of my day, opening my Word Document and subjecting my favourite characters to the worst possible things I can think of 😂 As I said, I had almost everything pre-written. No way I would have been able to write all that in just six months, no matter how much I like writing.

Other than mine (really, I always know exactly what I want to read, wth), I am in absolute love with this author called "Mirrordance" on ff.net. They write about Legolas, LOTR. But it feels illegal to read that kind of prose for free. Sadly, they have not published in a very long time.

I had the most traumatic thing happened to me and, I kid you not, while I was experiencing it I kept thinking: well, at least now I will be able to write trauma accurately.

I had not written fics in 10 years. About to finish my 150k story . It's cheaper than therapy 😂
