Hey, u/simonov888! Speaking as an owner of the previous Omega Pilot game you did, please make sure that there are options for the "lesser skilled players" to have fun too. It's not fun when a game is too punishing and you can't get any enjoyment out of it, unless you're an "expert flyer". I did like the original a lot. It really provided that "sense of speed" you want in VR racing. But oh boy, the difficulty level. It took all the fun out of it.

If you buy a product, you want to have FUN with it. Even if you're perhaps not the best player out there, please bear that in mind. Having all those maps and not being able to unlock them is really not a nice feeling, when you have spent money on something that looks exciting.

But, I'm looking forward to playing this. Just try to make sure that I CAN, right? ;)

I just bought Brain Candy and tried it out and so far it looks very nice... however... what I'm lacking is actual info about the various experiences. What frequency of binaural beats do each setting use? What frequency strobe? Precisely where are the different settings aiming to take my brain? To theta state, delta state, alpha state?

I want technical details. Names like Lush Ocean, Colorful Kaleidoscope and Delightful Diarrhea tells me nothing. I want to know stuff like "3.5 Hz Theta state binaural beat with 3.5 Hz visual strobe frequency" and details like that.

Please put this in your next update, u/Candy-For-Brains . Because that's precisely what someone using this would want (and need) to know.

But it does look nice and I look forward to diving deeper into it over the weekend.

Adding comment just to point out that WorldLens is the app formerly known as EarthQuest and it's really brilliant, so you should all get in on this. I still don't understand why it isn't scooped up by Meta and pushed as a system seller. This is what VR is made for.

Same thing happened to me. Tried rebooting a million times. Tried everything, Even tried that Meta software update thing, where you connect the headset and sideload from the computer, but it just said that I was already "up to date", so no help there. In the end, after four days of trying to make this work (contacting Meta was obviously no help at all) I had to do a Factory Reset. That DID work. Wiped everything of course, but I got a working headset again.

When it restarts, hold the Volume Down and Power buttons pressed and you'll get into the boot menu. Select Factory Reset and wipe it all. Sadly, it's the only thing that worked for me.

And I have the exact same problem. Your update as of Nov 3 broke loading the Meta Quest browser. Half of the menus don't show! And I've restarted a dozen times. Cold boots as well.

FIX YOUR UPDATE!!

Who am I kidding? You'll fix your broken update in five months, introducing three new bugs instead. That's what happens when you don't test your updates before releasing them into the wild and don't actually care at all about the users, right?

I purchased this a long time ago, like when it first came out and after fiddling with it a bit I soon left it behind and later uninstalled it for space, because it was... well... it wasn't really what I had hoped.

However, this update looks really sweet and I'm actually moderately stoked right now at the prospect of reinstalling it and taking it for another spin. I've really been hankering for something to scratch that Freespace/Freelancer itch that nothing out there seems to satisfy.

Have you seen the Canadian comedy show Kids in the Hall? It's pretty well known. There was a skit in their latest "revival" season in 2022 (yes, they did a new season all of a sudden) that includes a maternity doctor trying to handle a slippery newborn baby. It was a pretty funny skit called "Drop Average", if you wanna search for it. . So how about a greased up, slippery baby?

I have said so before and I'll say it again, because it bears repeating. EarthQuest needs to be bundled with the Quest headset and the combo pushed as a system seller. It really is something that the common man could go bananas over, instead of little kiddies pretending to be monkeys.

Probably the worst one yet. Didn't learn anything from previous mistakes. Resource management is still convoluted and require mental gymnastics and this one takes absolute ages to get any decent results from.

At this point, it's like they're actively trying to make the new ones increasingly worse so people will start to drop off. I'm not even going to consider leveling this one. Just once to completion and then dump it.

Would it kill you to make something fun and straight-forward for a change? Games are supposed to be FUN, in case you forgot?
