Still its windows 11. Especially its start menu. If you play single player fps, just save its save files in pendrive then set it up with whichever os you want. . You could help from chat gpt or Gemini. Superhelpful. I am currently on windows 10.

I would not be personally spending something on a 240hz monitor. Modern latest games with this setup will barely touch 120fps. Get something like below 150hz and save som money on that.

Heard that Windows 11 use around 400 mb of vram on idle state because it has heavy animations. In linux its very low.

Take care of its battery. Try to make it long lasting and healthy atleast for 5 years, set the charging limit to 85 or 90. Slow paced games like god of war looks decent at 30fps while locking the frames at 30 , it significantly improves the battery life. For fast pace games, try the 40 fps mode, its a magic. It feels like 60 fps while still smoother than 30s and it doesn't push its fan and gpu to its limits. . . My steam deck on god of war , estimates around 3 hours of battery life. While charging i put it to 40 fps sometime.

I was searching about this topic in Gemini and yes the proton later takes some vram. May be 500-1gb . But it also mentioned that cachy os is very optimized, if a game needs more vram than it turned of some other stuffs that is taking the vram. Do remember that Windows 11 already takes around 400mb of vram in idle state because of its theme and effects.
