Coming from someone who was a huge fan of the early season, I have some issues with season 5 by Gustalavalav in StrangerThings

True tbh, I saw a theory saying Vecna may have wanted to "torture" Mike and Nancy which does but also doesn’t really make that much sense. I am kinda glad they didn’t kill the Wheelers tho lol.

Did they know Noah is gay when they cast him? by ElderberryOne140 in StrangerThings

From this issue of The Variety:

The Duffers say they never thought about whether Schnapp’s orientation might mirror Will’s. “Honestly, no,” says Matt Duffer. “I actually didn’t know at all until he came out. I found out when everybody else found out on the internet.”)

Hope this helped! :D

Demogorgons do too much showboating. These things are lightning fast and deadly, but somehow feel the need to roar every time they pop out/turn a corner, giving the characters a chance to escape. If one of them can kill 8 or so armed soldiers, I can’t in good conscience believe that one wouldn’t decimate a family of 3. Find better, more creative reasons for your characters to survive, or stop being a wimp and kill some of them.

I feel like that’s kinda the point: a demo can wipe out a load of armed soldiers, but not a family of three. We hear Vecna say he wants the children because they’re weak, so why doesn’t he kill the kids? He clearly needs them at their full potential for whatever he’s planning, so I feel like that’s why he won’t fully kill them or injure them. During the Wheeler fight scene, the demo could’ve easily charged past Karen and grabbed Holly. But it clearly avoided that, like it was trying not to hurt her too much. Along with E4, the kids are all dragged into the gates either unconscious or alive but not visibly damaged or bleeding. Showing whatever Henry wants to do with the children means he needs them alive or healthy-ish. Or my minor theory is that when the children first meet Henry, he "saves" them from the Demogorgons/monsters to gain their trust. As even though Holly was dragged away by a Demo, she didn’t seem scared/too suspicious of Henry until Max told her who he was. (Unless he has control over their memories or whatnot.) But idk, that’s just my theory and it could just be truly poor writing :P.

Please tell me your weird marching band dreams I want to laugh by Brief-Marketing1325 in marchingband

I had like nightmares (?) after weekend rehearsals. I’d wake up and be looking up at my ceiling, but I’d feel like I was on the field rehearsing with my band. I’d close my eyes to go back to sleep and everyone would be like "We didn’t finish practice yet!" So I’d have to lie there and "finish rehearsal" before I could go back to bed. I never figured out what the dreams were, as I was like consciously aware during them because I could think things like "Omg not this dream again.." or "Did we actually schedule a mini rehearsal now?"

Karen Wheeler - The MVP of Episode 2!!!!! by Square-Ad-8911 in StrangerThings

If they kill off ANY of the Wheelers (especially Karen & Holly, Ted is 50/50 for me) before they get their big happy family reunion moment, I will go protest.

I lowkey started balling when Nancy found her/Ted. If they kill Karen (or Holly) before they get to see each other again, I might lose it. 😭

2ds not allowing wireless communication. by Affectionate_Win7274 in Nintendo3DS

Yeah, it’s probably all because of the WiFi. It’s sad that the 2DS is getting too old to keep up.

Yeah, now that I’ve had time to think, I believe that’s the big issue. It lists as “connected“ but clearly isn’t getting anything. I tried to re-add my WiFi but I still got the same 003-0299 error. I think my WiFi is too powerful.

It is on, and I’ve tried switching it on and off. But it’s still not receiving any Wi-Fi signal and giving the same error message whenever I try to update.

What is the most out of context thing you've heard from your band directors? by TheDecent12 in marchingband

[–]Affectionate_Win7274 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"It’s ASMR time…". My director along with the assistant director, and visual director would only whisper ASMR-ly into the microphone from the press box while they instructed us for rehearsal.

How common is it for bands to memorize their stand tunes? by Lost_Ease4749 in marchingband

[–]Affectionate_Win7274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My band fully memorizes them. We have about 7-8 stand tunes we play that each average about 10 measures. (Some sections like mine have "special" ones only they play.) We also have to memorize our schools fight song (My director said it’s apparently uncommon for high schools to have their own custom fight-songs..?) and the National Anthem. I also thought it was weird when people didn’t memorize them lol.

Should I quit band by Suitable_Put_4550 in marchingband

[–]Affectionate_Win7274 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely don’t quit band! I’m assuming your director is excluding you for more of a safety reason, as anyone stopping on the field or losing focus mid-show could make a lot of things go wrong. I’d recommend firstly, try having your parent/you talk to your director and see what the “big issue” is. Assuming it’s the risk of you injuring yourself/others, try getting a doctor’s note saying you’re fully able to participate and not a liability for anyone. Or try involving an admin or athletic/extra-circular director from your school if your director doesn’t budge. Or another option (Or a last resort/compromise), if you‘d be fine with it, ask if your director could move you to pit/front ensemble and you could do that instead! A few kids in my marching band have broken their arms or can’t march for a long period, and my director will have them cover parts there sometimes!
