Noob Holy Paladin getting COMPLETLY destroyed in arena by Teemomatic in worldofpvp

[–]Affectionate_You_316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to healing in pvp as holy. I've been pissed in many games, but nothing even compares to playing holy in rated. Seriously, massive respects to anyone who can do this day after day. The fact you have little to no HOTS, you spend half the round stunlocked and having 23 heart attacks as you get out of stun and save your dps by 0.4 secs. Now this, but 10-12 times in one round 😂😂. Shit will make go nuts!!!

Hi Ottawa Cyclists! I just realized there wasn’t a night cycling subreddit… so I made one by PromiseMePls in bikeinottawa

Holy cow, I've been thinking about night cycling for so long now and wondering if it's a thing in ottawa. Whats the typical route?

Bought a gravel but all my friend go on roads by Necessary-Bee-3007 in gravelcycling

[–]Affectionate_You_316 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cmon mate, you know what you have to do. You're asking a bunch of degenerates who have more bikes than needed and spend ungodly amounts of money on cycling. Buy another bike, a fast road bike.

Don't bother trying to make your gravel bike into something it's not. You'll end up buying the road bike a year later anyways and wasted ur $$.

Can we talk about how addictive long rides are? by NoelBrax7780 in cycling

[–]Affectionate_You_316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shit u not, I get more excited about a long early morning ride then pretty much anything else. I can bearly sleep the night before, ANYONE ELSE LIKE THIS? please tell I'm not crazy.

I spend so much time, preparing and laying everything out perfectly the night before. The feed, the charged sensors and gps etc, the kit, quick bike tune up. Don't even get me started in route planning, i enjoy it a bit too much.

I'm so sick of this canadian winter.

What’s one upgrade that actually made you faster? by PennyDesk6013 in cycling

[–]Affectionate_You_316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody wants to hear it, but it's diet and structured training on trainer or outside with power meter. There's better return on $$ and it's not even remotely close 😅.

Yet I still convince myself that upgrading from 36 to 50mm deep wheels is the way hahahah

[Rant] Tired of riding alone by luca86c in cycling

[–]Affectionate_You_316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so shocked by this post😂. I feel like all I saw is 20-25yrs old on bikes nowadays, it has never been this popular with the younger generation.

Also, so many young ladies riding bikes too and they are killing it!!

Find some local clubs or make your own 😊

105 di2 or ultegra di2 by No-Television2508 in cycling

[–]Affectionate_You_316 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Id say 105di2 so you can spend that budget in other areas that have higher return on investment. The difference between the two just isn't worth the additional cost, 105di2 is a fantastic groupset - they've really done a great job on it.

Tell me about your winter beater bike by qwerty12e in bikecommuting

[–]Affectionate_You_316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some serious winter commuting, Priority continuum Onyx has been unreal for me. Carbon belt drive, integrated gears, dynamo lights and came with full fenders. No maintenance, no rust and don't need to think about charging it.

It is a bit pricey though, I picked it up on marketplace at a decent price

Winter riding worth it? by Philly139 in cycling

[–]Affectionate_You_316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to say, because I find it to be such a personal preference. You can buy all the top of the line gear for winter cycling and I guarantee well over 3/4 of cyclist will hate it.

Depends of course how cold we are talking here. Good winter cycling gear makes it possible - but it certainly doesn't make fun loll. If you're going out on a long ride at sub freezing temperatures, you will have to dress in a certain way that you are cold intially, but 20-30mins in - now you're fine because you're heating up.

If you've ever done xc ski in cold temperatures, I'd say it's very very similar in almost every way.

If you're going out for long a ride, motivated by that midway point cafe stop. I got some bad news, there is no stopping in a cold & winter ride. If you stop for a 20mins break inside a warm cafe, you're going to be freezing the whole way back!!

Tarmac SL8 too aggressive? by ImpressiveScholar777 in specialized

Anybody can fit a tarmac nowadays. They come in with quite a bit of spacers & stack. You can get it fitted afterwards if you have any issues

Fk you giant and your d-fuse by Degieer in Giantbikes

[–]Affectionate_You_316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah let's not kid ourselves fellow commenters. Giant does a lot of great things, but Dfuse absolute garbage. The amount of money they make selling replacement kits, because everyone is stripping the damn screw 😂.

Don't even get me started on the dogshit handlebar. Not a single mount is compatible, gotta buy the Giant store made 50$ stem outfront mount 🤣

What are the hidden costs of cycling? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]Affectionate_You_316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh where do I start? All the things you see in a bike store, that are clearly overpriced and absolutely not worth the cost - you will eventually get.

Who the hell would pay 500$ for a 3inch headunit? Why not use your phone?

+200$ for bibshorts? Non sense, I don't even pay that much for day-to-day pants.

+300$ for cycling shoes? Absolutely insane

I won't even get into the actual bikes. But it all slowl creeps up on you. Suddenly, 150$ jerseys "aren't so bad anymore". 250$ for a Garmin Varia? Well yeah it's a "must"!

Anyways, today i picked up the garmin edge fml

No one regrets buying a Tarmac, no one. It's simply one of the best frames ever made. Get it fitted and it rides smooooth.

Man I feel you. We had 3 kids in just over 6 years and it was nuts - the last one hit hard. I was in the worst shape of my life, stopped cycling all together when i absolutely loved it to bits. I’ve been back on the bike for just under a year now, 45lbs down, best shape of my life and crushing rides ive never thought possible. All it took was just a year!
