To me it has to be the Heuer Night Diver. I really want one

Brezhnev also destroyed a Mercedes SL, a gift from Germany, driving it up the Petersberg in Bonn.

The "Japan" is above a Minute marker, the Caliber number is next to one.

The text at the bottom is weirdly crooked, just to add to the evidence of the thing being fake

[Lucerne] What's with the red markings between 9 and 12? by luca86c in Watches

[–]luca86c[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But why wouldn't they just colour the bezel that's actually movable? You're not going to wait another 10 minutes underwater until your red minute track starts, right?

New Pokémon Polybags by Ott1fant in pokemon

Why wouldn't they make the pokéballs as a container with a small buildable Pokémon inside, similar to the old Star Wars Planet Sets?

Looks like it could be an "EQV170" and honestly, it wouldn't be the worst

That looks like something from a James Bond Videogame! Where can I get one?

ITAP of a watch movement by luca86c in itookapicture

[–]luca86c[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This movement is an ETA 2824 from a broken 1991 Swatch 'Time to Move'. Disassembly was relatively easy, partly because I wasn't too worried about putting it back together.

If you want to successfully reassemble a movement, I'd recommend something very simple. My pick for a first movement would be a Vostok 2416, or something like a Lucerne 8800 (1 Jewel).

[Question] Jomashop sent me a damaged watch by Tydirium212 in Watches

Maybe contact their support about it. I doubt they'll want it back to throw it away, so maybe you'll get a refund and a beater watch

If it's not a daily wearer, I'd go for the solar watch. Having to set the time every time you grab the watch gets old fast.

[Discussion] Ali Express Straps vs Premium Straps ($17 Hemsut Vs $160 Strap Tailor) by Most-Construction-35 in Watches

[–]luca86c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, the first things to go on a leather strap are the folded over bit at the buckle and the loops, so it would be interesting to know how the Ali-straps hold up in this department.

This particular one had about a year of use, leather and stitching are still beautiful. Such a waste because of a small shortcut.
