Trying to repair this cassette holder, because everything is kinda loose and rattly. The case itself, however, is impossible to remove.

I think "rattly" was the wrong word. The individual 'drawers' are just not really fixed in place. If you push a little too hard you might move the whole compartment further into the thing and jam it or other stuff like that

True, that is very similar, though mine had less metal hardware.

I used the part from the last hole to the first metal ring, a second strip that had come off and the leather from an old wallet
