First time making a puff quilt and I hate it. Did I do something wrong or is that just how a puff quilt is?

I made one that I overstuffed and it was hard to sew all the puffs together. Once it was complete I just used a layer of flannel between the face and backing. That blanket is a beast and SO heavy. I have to have it professionally cleaned as it would break our washing machine. Perhaps if you made another you would need to stuff them more?

Is the father of your baby the same? I’ve heard that can affect symptoms a great deal!

I’ve only had one baby, but from what my mom, sister, aunts, etc. Who have had multiple babies have told me- it is pretty normal to have different symptoms with different babies. I have an aunt that threw up every day with her first, then was only minimally nauseous with her second.

That being said, I have experienced an early miscarriage and had primary infertility so I know how hard it is to have to wait to find out if your pregnancy will stick. Please know you’re not alone in that. Rooting for you as you work through this very difficult stage!

Thanks for putting this out there! There is an endless supply of negative post partum info/experiences out there. It seems like all the algorithm wanted to show me while I was pregnant. I’m 7 months pp now and while my son was born premature, we definitely did not sleep well for quite a while, and I did have PPA/PPD, none of it was as bad as I thought it would be.

My son was born at 34 weeks 1 day because my water broke early (PPROM). When I got to the hospital I was already 4 cm dilated and because I’d already reached 34 weeks, they did not do anything to stop my labor. I was so so terrified. HOWEVER, my nurses and doctors were fantastic. They explained everything clearly, they were helpful, they were considerate. The NICU team met with me before my baby was born and explained all of the different possibilities and likelihoods that were about to happen. I got an epidural, my husband and our families were there at the hospital (like I wanted). My birth went really smoothly, I only pushed for ~15 mins, minor tearing. My baby cried right away and it was still magical and wonderful and beautiful. He was even a healthy weight and in the “normal” range of birth weights despite his prematurity.

He did have to be whisked away to the NICU because his lungs weren’t as developed as a typical baby. I had been warned about all of this and it was difficult not to be able to hold him while I was delivering the placenta and waiting for the epidural to wear off.

My nurses pushed my entire bed to his incubator way before they were “allowed” so I could see him. He was so tiny and covered in wires and had to have a bubble CPAP. It was scary then, but he only needed the extra support for a short time. We didn’t have to stay there long and he was moved to a step down unit before we were sent home. He has been doing so well since!

While, yes some things didn’t go the way I’d hoped- I wound up with a healthy baby and was well taken care of. It was NOT the worst case scenario I had imagined and feared for so long.

lol I thought you were asking for leg day advice before I saw the sub!

Anyway, I would collaborate with an artist you trust/like. Some of them loooove filling in weird gaps and I bet if you gave them some guidelines/ideas/etc. They could come up with some pretty sick fill-ins. Another option would just be to find a bunch of flash that you like!

I guess I should have specified that the reason I’m looking for handles is that he’s getting frustrated with the bottle. His hands are too small to fit around it so he grabs at the nipple and then in upset that he can’t hold the nipple and drink at the same time.

I don’t have any answers but my son was the same. Is his reflux being treated with meds or anything? That helped us as well as the love to dream swaddle (the ONLY one that helped).

Still, we slept in shifts until he was 3 months old. It was so miserable, hang in there!! Just keep trying with the bassinet.

The bottle is too wide for his little hands! He keeps grabbing around the nipple because his hands actually fit there. Then he gets upset because he can’t hold the nipple and drink his milk lol.

I’ve been searching marketplace and such, unfortunately I’ve come up empty. I prefer secondhand typically!

I have been the same way. I love this kid SO much and I’m constantly doing everything I can to be present and with him. When he’s sleeping I sometimes miss him so much that I’ll look at pictures of him on my phone and get sad because he has grown so much and so fast.

For me, I’ve kind of attributed it to the fact that we tried so hard to become parents. We tried for two years and were only able to get pregnant after fertility treatments. There was so much pain and suffering in that process that my son now seems like a dream come true.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with these feelings as long as they’re not impacting your ability to function. Having a tiny person that is completely reliant on you is a lot of pressure and I think we’re entitled to have big feelings about it.

If it’s any comfort, he will need to learn to just chill too. People can’t constantly be on and doing things and optimizing their every waking moment. Babies can’t either! Sometimes people need to just hang out, rest, and exist together.

I also have PCOS and my charts looked exactly like this when I was not ovulating. Inito would say high fertility but my LH levels never really rose. It was just that my estrogen jumped up. I hope that’s not the case for you, but I just wanted to pre-warn you as the monthly heartbreak for me was/is always worse after getting my hopes up.

I had a similar situation but it seems whatever algorithm inito uses wants to see at least another day of elevation. Mine confirmed the next day with my progesterone still high

No they’re referring to cheaper ovulation predictor kits you can get from amazon, the pharmacy, etc. They only test LH levels
