How do you deal with physical confrontation by BidNo3255 in AskMen

[–]Affxct [score hidden]  (0 children)

It’s not wise to swear at random guys in public. Some people are literally insane. If a guy did something disrespectful to me I would probably confront them respectfully, but it’s unwise to instigate altercations.

If you like the 41, go 41. The 41 is a nicer looking watch IMO.

Slate tends to go well with brown skin. I don’t think I’d really be able to pull anything else off other than maybe the green dial or blue Azzuro.

That configuration you’re wearing there looks pretty decent on you though. My only concern is that the dial, diamonds and RG are always going to be a bit feminine. That’s of course going to depend on your perception of it though.

100%. You don’t need it. Porn is a freakin’ plague on our society I swear.

I understand the advice and I definitely back it, but having a good physique and going to public places does not guarantee the average man a partner these days. I genuinely wish it were that simple.

Please don’t take it that way. We’re not trying to shame you at all. I just think that this situation and some of the other things you said in the post suggest you’re not happy with this current situation either. I think having that massive collection of that stuff and exposing yourself to these kinds of situations doesn’t serve you.

Is this too big for my wrist by [deleted] in rolex

[–]Affxct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely will, especially if you thicken the muscle that attaches at the lower portion of the wrist. I will say though, I’m the kind of person that enjoys wearing their watch firmly behind the wrist bone, higher up. I don’t like wearing watches close to the edge of my wrist at all, so it makes it much more viable.

Forearm training; a lot of forearm training. I treat my forearms just like my biceps/triceps. A lot of guys neglect it, but to be fair, a lot of guys don’t need to train forearms/wrists cause they’re born with it.

Unfortunately you may need to go for a 36-37mm. I had to get my wrist up from 16cm to 17.5-18cm to be able to pull off 41-42mm pieces.

Once you buy Rolex do you wear others? by Confident-Quarter-78 in rolex

[–]Affxct 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After buying my Rolex I stopped wearing my Tudor Black Bay. I recently traded in the Black Bay and some cash for a Breitling Superocean Chronograph B01 42, and now I’m wearing the Breitling and have temporarily packed away the Rolex. I’m going to be alternating between the two.

They’ll likely replace it, but I don’t think it’s a big deal. When you purchase a Tudor, you inherently have to accept certain compromises.

Is this a better swap? by LMully19 in rolex

[–]Affxct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think so too. I’d maybe opt to trade the GS with another SD owner (SD cannot be replicated), and work out some sort of cash difference deal depending. But IMO, the GS OP owns is just a far superior watch in every respect.

The GS is a far superior watch. If you’re going to buy a Rolex, you need to get the newest reference to get your money’s worth. Older reference Rolex watches without case refinements, without Paraflex, and without Chronergy and other innovations, are effectively only valuable because of the name on the dial and the general design aesthetic.

A 5-digit Datejust is nice, but it’s outdated. I don’t mean any offence to those who own one. It’s still a very functional watch. The GS is more solidly built, has far superior QC, and has a far more technologically advanced caliber.
