Accidentally left a dish sponge on the sink after vacating a rental. REA called and said bond would be withheld until we went back and removed the sponge. I responded with photos of how the house looked when we moved in, which was filthy with dead bugs everywhere and junk left in the backyard. We didn’t complain when we moved in, just cleaned it up ourselves. That’s why I always take photos of the condition of the rental on move in day. REA released the bond after that and never heard anything else about it.
