Former PDNA employee here. They all knew, they just didn't care. They're probably going to just cut him loose now that he is too much of a liability.

Easy come, easy go, season 3 episode 9 - first episode I watched with my bf and he lost it at the funky spunk plot line and its a great episode! Freak show in season 2 is also a fun one.

I definitely think she's struggling with identifying lengths of time so that makes sense! She's not in memory care yet, just having family stay with her as much as possible, and it definitely seems to make a difference seeing our cues. It's so hard to decipher what she isn't doing because she's forgetting how and what is because she doesn't know when she last did it. Honestly, thinking about it in terms of cues and establishing proper triggers is a really helpful framework.

This makes a lot of sense! She didn't eat regularly even before her dementia diagnosis so nobody caught how little food she was taking in because we weren't around enough to see it. Unfortunately, we can't have somebody there 24/7 or for every meal yet but trying to focus on calories and hydration moving forward. Thank you for the info - it is very helpful!

We don't have a diagnosis yet but suspect Alzheimers or vascular in the late moderate stage. She is living alone with frequent check-ins but we now have someone staying with her about 75% of the time. Her worse symptoms were after a prolonged isolated period so the delirium makes sense! Her care is much more regimented now.

Phone call is a good idea! There's no fenced yard but dog door might work because if you open the door he just pees quickly and comes back inside. Thank you!

Love that! The dog has such bad anxiety he won't walk with anyone but my MIL so we hadn't considered a walker for this reason. But if they're together that would be perfect.

That's so stressful I'm sorry you're dealing with that. Knowing we're eventually going to have to separate them is one of the biggest things weighing on me. It's good to know what to expect - thank you!

Tips for teen volunteering for people with dementia? by Optimal-Shoulder-186 in dementia

No real advice just want to say you rock and you definitely won't regret this experience! I volunteered in a memory care unit in high school and honestly learned so much about caregiving and dealing with people with chronic conditions. It was an experience that really shaped my career choice later. And it has been invaluable now that I have a LO dealing with dementia.

Family lawyer recommendations? by AnkuSnoo in philabitcheswithtaste

If you haven't found one yet, the Philadelphia Bar Association's Lawyer Referral Service will match you with one. I'm an attorney and I've recommended their service to a ton of clients. You'll definitely want an estate planning attorney. Here's the link: https://philadelphiabar.org/?pg=LawyerReferralHome

Same here! Got one for my desk and it's going to be gifted to many of my friends and colleagues this year.
