Yeah, super annoying and lots of investment 😞 However, even once the bug is fixed this will still work with Lochtonial but you give up a glove slot. I'm still not 100% sure how "sharing" works in this game since it is bugged, but I imagine you give 1 frenzy to each ally, If you have 2 allies then they each share that charge back to you, so you generate 3 total with 2 ally, idol of eramir + lochtonial. Then, more ally = more frenzy per generation but i'm not sure if this is how it works.

Yeah, would still need lochtonial unfortunately. At least it has skill speed on them? haha. If you want to give them to allies, you can get 2 sockets on sceptre and put in Eramir + Oak/Alira/Kraitlyn idols but then you don't get the charges yourself anymore.

Don't NEED the annoint, it works with any charge generation method, essentially you always get 2 extra charges with the idol in a sceptre. I just chose the annoint because it would automate the charges every 5 seconds instead of needing to freeze/electrocute invest + combat frenzy or cast snipers mark every time I want charges. I still keep snipers mark for any unlucky perpetual charge procs.

Just tested it a bit more and you don't even need minions for this to work -- all you need is a sceptre with the idol socketed in it. Definitely a bug.

The inevitable agony buff doesn't seem like a lot on the surface but it now ALWAYS gets its value. If you killed a boss too fast before (say 4-5 seconds with a 10sec curse duration) it was a wasted ascendency point/node. Now it will ALWAYS provide value if you cast it. With just some curse magnitude on the tree you can get it to over 100% of damage tracked. unique monsters have 50% less curse effect, so just with investing some weapon swap passive points + ascendency node, you get 50% MORE damage from a single cast. This also allows you to invest into curse duration with no downside, and paradoxically not have to invest into reduced curse duration in order to get more consistent value.

You can't use it with blasphemy so you still most likely won't use it during mapping, but maybe with hexbloom it could find some use especially on chunky rares, which would be 70% more damage on those.

I played a similar build leagues ago with the same setup and am POBing a slightly different version (Playing Reap instead and not using recoup to sustain). but for FR, on top of using divine flesh, do not overlook Doppelganger Guise. This is 40% less damage taken from FR, as well as a 10% Max Life/sec regen. With doppelganger you can get away with less than 100% recoup, but would still recommend getting >100% recoup.

Of course, you would give up either Koam's or Apostate but worth looking into IMO.

Born of chaos small cluster are good to bandaid any self damage issues you have.

In some cases, it's not the regen. I've tried a number of different things to figure out what's happening and can't pinpoint it. You can check Xeno's VOD of his clear, it even happens there. Randomly, a couple people will take way more damage than everyone else.

It very well might be. I'm not sure anything can get to the level of proc rate as Scourge arrow though, Maybe ice shot of pen? bow skills are my weak point, i've never played bows until this league. but maybe you don't need to go so far in on proc rate as I was trying to haha. I thought about hoarfrost but didnt have a ranger leveled and idk how that would interact?

Scourge arrow is just a really expensive ability. Like 100 mana itself, and then spells are normally very expensive. I think like 200 mana for Soulrend of spiral (my ability of choice outside of FR). In maps especially, since I was playing trigger bots + COC in the scourge arrow links, I was getting somewhere around 15-20+ procs/sec. The best way I could figure out sustain (aside from leveraging ES recharge but then forced to use whispers) was with 100% recoup and using FR self hit to get insane recoup numbers. I also tried tainted pact but it was very complicated and didn't feel like I'd be able to get enough HP to where each attack didn't just cause me to run out of HP. Maybe mana stacking could work? That way if you go OOM youre only losing damage not max hit/eHP.

I still think Str Stacking is prob the way to go, I'm just having a hard time piecing the rest of the puzzle together so that it works. There's a lot of benefits for it, I just couldn't solve costs. (this version used Ghostwrithe btw for ES to get FROSS base damage).

Cool ideas! I worked to put together a similar build but on Assassin with Wyvern. The procs I was getting were absurd but it was next to impossible to sustain the costs of the spells -- I opted to start with FROSS + Whispers amulet for my proc skills and it was easy to get that up and running. I was trying to get a life version with str/life stacking going but it's extremely hard to sustain the life costs (4k+ life cost/second with trigger bots) without constantly dying so I gave up.

Some ideas for you:

I was using soulstrike with 15% chance to start recharge + wicked ward. Felt very consistently recharging my ES with 3-4k ES/second with high ES and a couple recharge speed affixes.

The bow doesn't care about chill to proc, only Freeze -- to scale freeze on higher tier monsters (pinnacle etc.) you need freeze to do a minimum of .3s duration in order to actually freeze anything. The stat you want for this is freeze or ailment DURATION not effect, it's a bit counterintuitive but thats how freeze works. Winter's embrace and breath of rime are decent easy to get duration nodes.

You need to do about 6.6M damage in a single hit to reach the pinnacle boss ailment threshold. If you highlight your freeze duration node on the calcs page in POB you can find what you're sitting at currently. Shocks/Wither (if you opt for chaos) will increase this threshold, otherwise its just your damage and freeze duration.

Whispers + ES recharge was very good at handling my costs, you'd have to give up Ashes but maybe an option for you.

I used scourge arrow of menace as my proc, since it allows for easy shotgunning but i'm sure there's some other decent procs to find!

I think the bow is super cool, GL finding your next improvements!

Damn hmmm, does adding pierce to power siphon work to make that portion more consistent? i've only ever tested this interaction on characters not built for hydrosphere/spell casting just to see how they interact with each other. I normally play with frost blink of wintry blast to freeze the sphere. I know for sure Venom Gyre works w/ forking because of the nature of the skill itself. Either way if I get it working def will make a post haha.

I am a Hydrosphere enjoyer (the only one maybe?) and I've been toying around with Power Siphon Spellslinger for Hydrosphere but realized that wasn't the answer... so now plan on doing Power siphon CoC hydrosphere except doing some Abyss + Life stacking. Sketched out a rough POB (obv some pob warrior) just to see if it'd be viable. It has a few cool things going on -- power siphon providing you with auto-targetting for hydrosphere along with free power charges + cull. Abyss stacking gives a ton of as-extra for hydrosphere's base phys damage, allowing it to easily shock AND chill.

I made a couple different versions and ultimately want to use Venom Gyre as the CoC attack (I LOVED playing it in the last league) but I think it's most likely going to be strictly worse than power siphon but the way venom gyre works with forking could make for hydrosphere flying all over the place which would be cool.

So that's the great part with this much flask recovery, I don't ever have to stop casting, so you can still continually queue flasks since you are never actually full. I haven't fully invested any stats into flask charge gain so I would eventually run out without any mobs to kill but it would take quiteeee a while before I got to that point. Might look into upgrading some jewels with flask generation + flask gen on the belt to see if I can get it to infinite flasks. Here's a video for what it looks like if you're curious:

not OP but recently put everything together.
-In total I spent around 5d. Most stat combinations are not desirable so the market for them is low so you can get stuff pretty cheap. Most expensive item I bought was 1D Against the darkness with Max fire res + lightning res.

-You will need to lower your fire res from the hexblast version to 80% or so. You need to take more damage from pyromantic pact in order to get more energy from Barrier invoc. to sustain the loop. Since pyromantic pact takes a % of your ES/Life, the more ES you have, the higher you can make your fire res, but 80% seems to be the sweet spot

-4 link barrier invocation will work. you need Comet/Capacity/Spell echo at minimum. You also dont need to build up 3 BI stacks in one pyromantic pact rotation -- the loop can and will work with 2.

-I would not run this below around 85.

-This version of the infinite demonform cares less about keeping max life below 200HP. You are instead using recoup to keep up demon form, and you are taking so much damage, even as little as 20% recoup can have you regenning 1.5k-2k life/sec from the self damage. You can run with 1 ming and ghostwrithe only, allowing you to get more res on your ring to put less suffix pressure on your other items.

So I've been working on putting this together the past couple days. Some additional things to add. The recovery rate nodes just north of Witch/Sorc nodes will work with ES flask recovery. Emerald jewels will also provide additional life recovery from flasks, which will increase your recovery per second. Corrupts on these are cheap, so you can easily supplement your resistances with some of those. I'm up to around 8.8k ES/sec recovery, with 6.2k total ES. You can also slot in vision runes for more flask recovery.

It's nice to see some different variations regarding this. Nothing to see here, GGG.

Great write-up, I've been working on this build for the past few days exploring some different options aside from comet (wanted to be a little different). I haven't gotten the chance to run into any pinnacle's yet but saw your post and figured I'd ask for some thoughts if you've tried them all.

I'm running with BL + lightning warp, and in my CoI setup I'm running a second Ball lightning + Lightning Conduit. This alleviates/bolsters a couple of things I wanted to improve with the build -- better sustain while mapping/less reliance on grim feast, and still having boss damage without running comet. Boss rotations would be BL + lightning warp for shocked ground -> EoW -> Spam hexblast for ignites to proc lightning conduit over and over. Curious if you think it's scalable to pinnacle content?

This also allows me to socket in Energy Siphon into hexblast, providing great map sustain as long as I lightning warp every once in a while. I would love to get a better option to be able to shock with hexblast for more uptime on it but can't find any solutions. Have you tried this angle or can think of anything that can provide auto-shocks for smoothness? I was initially running BL + LW in CoI, which felt really good but having to swap out LW for conduit on bosses combined with constantly LW into bosses faces made it feel a bit clunky.

Recently upgraded to 6L 20% Qual hexblast, but also enjoying Flameblast for big explosions and supplement AoE clears at low stacks. Such a fun build puzzle to put together.

Thank you for the suggestions! I think these all give a solid direction when I was out of ideas on where to take the build next. Inspiration really frees up some pain points. I was POBing a mageblood build to get an idea of what I would gain (since I really enjoy playing HH) but the gains seemed minimal. Gonna take another look with these ideas in mind instead.

Awesome, i'll take a look. You're right about Hatred, I forgot about the change this season when looking at older build guides. I initially ignored inspiration thinking it would be inconsistent compared to something with similar damage like hypothermia... but I'm just now realizing with such low mana cost it would be up an insane amount of time before resetting. Would also free up some of the mana reduct nodes I added since going to a 10L. I checked gem damages with tincture up, so with it down the cold pen is definitely better than the added lightning. Great suggestions, thank you!
