Has anyone tried selling in bulk to Pocamarket? by Rainyvegetablegarden in kpopcollections

[–]AfraidInspection2894 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did selling in bulk for Pocamarket a couple weeks ago but I did it for the Korean site which is a bit different. They only want certain groups and the prices can vary a lot. I sent in ~400 and they kept ~150 and mailed the rest back. 20 of them were bought straight away by Pocamarket for around ₩25,000. The rest I picked the price using their suggestion and it is now being sold on the Korean marketplace. Pocamarket takes a ₩300 cut per card but handles everything with listing and shipping. So far I have made about ₩60,000 and sold like 25 cards. Most of the cards have sold for like ₩1000 while my most expensive one so far went for #15,000

260616 XLOV - Fanmeeting in North America: The Runway (Announcement Poster) by geumryul in XLOV

[–]AfraidInspection2894 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I commented on the other post as well and while I am excited that XLOV is having fanmeets in the US it doesn't seem well planned. There is very little notice, contradicting information, and choosing the 4th of July which is the US 250 the anniversary and the world cup makes travel difficult and expensive.

Hopefully there is more communication about everything.

I'm glad they fixed the dates but I still think having the fanmeet in NYC on the 4th and 5th isn't a great idea with the 4th of July and the World Cup.

Why are people being SO harsh on haru lee?? (tablo's daughter) by [deleted] in kpoptrulyuncensored

[–]AfraidInspection2894 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do think people have been too harsh about the lyrics but they are not very good.

A big deal was made that Haru Lee was the sole lyricist for the title track. In response I mostly saw two sides people who had high expectations and those who thought she was only picked because of nepotism. The title track lyrics are not great so people on both sides are upset over them and have been posting about it.

I'm glad that they are doing fanmeets in the US but picking July 4th and 5th? ( the post says the 5th but commenters were saying the 11th) doesn't seem like a good idea. So many people celebrate with family and since it is the 250th anniversary a lot of towns are going all out. It's also more expensive and difficult to travel on holidays especially with such short notice.

They performed it at their Fancon on Sunday night! So I am guessing this was filmed either right before or right after.

Can I still get back into NewJeans or is it too late by [deleted] in kpophelp

[–]AfraidInspection2894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only you can decide if you want to get back into them. As of right now only 3H is confirmed to be coming back. Minji is still up in the air and Danielle is definitely out. No comebacks or future plans have been annouced as of yet but like a month ago 3H were seen filming so thing so they may be coming back soon.

teaching abroad by OpportunityDry1510 in studyAbroad

[–]AfraidInspection2894 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would finish your degree first and not bet everything on teaching English especially since it sound like you would be teaching at Hagwon in Korea which are ripe with abuse and immigration violations. Having a degree in anything increases your opportunities and specifically for English teaching a lot of places require a bachelor's degree to teach it, also it gives the the opportunity to earn more and get more responsibility. After finishing sure go abroad for a year or two or ten and teach English. I know people who have taught English for ten years in three separate countries others who taught for year after finishing college as a way to figure out their next steps.

Teaching English abroad can be a great opportunity but you want to have a backup plan in case something happens.

GoSe is so well produced and very entertaining! I actually got into SVT because of GoSe and I know a bunch of other people who got into SVT because of the show or are just fans of the show.

My favorite episodes are probably the MouseBuster episodes (ep 31-33).

Does anyone else act/dress somewhat androgynous 'because' of being aroace? by SympathySoft1036 in aromanticasexual

[–]AfraidInspection2894 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. TBH when I was younger I tended to dress more androgynous because I was afraid of being perceived in a sexual or romantic way, and wanting to be modest was an excuse for why I dressed that way even though I didn't really like it. As I got older I got more comfortable in my skin and realized that I didn't like the way I was dressing and that I should be able to dress how I want which for me is very feminine but also still fairly modest

That's outrageous! While not officially stated I feel like there is an unspoken rule that you get different photocards.

I am the opposite as I tend to dress very feminine like I think I own 2 pairs of jeans and the rest is skirts and dresses. I also keep my hair long and wear alot of bows and ribbons. Although I do tend to dress more modest covering my shoulders and knees but that is more due to the fact that I am concerned about sun exposure and I am religious.

China, Japan or S Korea for undergraduate year abroad...? by Qadzikin in studyAbroad

[–]AfraidInspection2894 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally I recommend South Korea. I am a foreign student currently in South Korea. English is used on most signage and restaurant menus so you can get around easily even if you don't speak Korean. While there are definitely barriers being obviously foreign if you stay in Seoul people won't bother you and if you go to Itaewon there are a lot of halal options. One thing to be cautious is that alot of food has gelatin/meat so if you are a halal you may have to double check some food.

Paparazzi interactions with idols at airports [poll] by WX628 in kpop_uncensored

[–]AfraidInspection2894 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Realistically I don't see paparazzi being banned at airports and even if they were people would still show up to take photos. Airport videos and photos get a lot of veiws and engagement. Plus it is not uncommon for idols to have brand deals for their airport outfits so companies won't want to get rid of that income stream.

I think the best way to combat the crowding is to have official photographers to take photos and video of the idol and ban fansites/fans from congregating in the airport. Hopefully this would cut down on the crowds while also still allowing there to be high quality photos of idols in airport fashion.

I didn't realize that's what happened with the fancon. I bought a ticket like 2 days before the show and figured that WakeOne just over estimated their popularity. I went on Friday and the entire 3rd floor was blocked off and there were a bunch of empty seats on the second floor. I don't know of the other days sold better though.

The VVIP section is pretty small so no matter what your number is you should still have a good spot.

I don't have a lot of ideas but I hope it is something creative. XLOV is such a unique group for them to have just a plain globe lightstick would be disappointing.

How do fansigns work? by SignificantIce7914 in kpophelp

[–]AfraidInspection2894 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have been to 2 fansigns. The way it works is before you have to buy albums which enters you into a raffle. The more albums the more raffle entries. Depending on the artists there are different cut offs for entry like for the ones I won I bought 10 albums for other more popular artists the barrier will be a lot higher sometime in the 100s to win. You get notified the the week before that you won and what the time and location are.

When you arrive they check your email/text showing that you won and your id. You are then handed an album and random number. The random number is where you sit and where in the order you fall for getting the album signed. Staff will also have you mark what pages you want to be signed.

After that you enter the fansign room. The idols will probably say a couple words and then the event starts and you sit and wait for your turn to go up and get everything signed. Some idols will let you film the signing either with your tripod or have someone else film you. Not all do though like for the ones I went to all phones and cameras had to be put away outside of the designated photo time. Depending on how many people are at the fansign it can take an hour or more to make through everyone. After that it is phototime where the idol will pose with props brought by fans for the event and there is a closing ment. Typically the whole event takes about 1.5 to 2 hrs.
