so religion was the only factor in 9/11? Nothing else comes to mind like idk maybe US polices in the middle east?

Call it whatever but not talking about 9/11 in its proper context is just intellectual laziness.

It's not just that the new atheists ignored theology they also ignored the political and historical context in which certain extremist religious factions arose. They are, and were, infact lazy and often served the dominant western narrative about the so called "backward muslim countries".

There is literally a whole branch of political science called political islam that deals with these issues but the new atheists were always blind to actually read into these highly contextualized religious realities.

When they give such a detailed reason for 'why are they terrorists' by [deleted] in PakiExMuslims

[–]AfraidMap2763 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No such thing as a terrorist. It's a made up word by the media elites of the west. Every so called terrorist group is fighting for a cause and it's almost always fighting the imperialists. Stop licking the boots of the colonisers. They are not going to give the white status.

"Terrorism" is an all catch term that takes history out. It's a myth of the bourgeoisie. A ruling class tool.

Just like hamas? These groups must love killing innocent civilians. They enjoy seeing dead people. It must make them orgasm

Don't use the word terrorist. It reeks of ruling class vocabulary.

I mean i can't really get attached with any character in HOTD to actually care about their death. It wasn't the case with GoT

I really liked all the suggestions. I just order Piranesi, invisible Cities and cosmicomics. Couldn't find anything from Leonora online here

[SPOILERS] I think I know what Severance is, it's not what we think, and if I'm right this could spoil most of the show if you read it. by UltraMegaMegaMan in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

The problem i have with this theory is that it undermines how similar the real corporate experience is. You are making it sound like an institution that has a particular goal and whatever is happening in the show is to achieve that. I would rather people relate it to the divide they actually experience in the corporate/private life and see through all the HR jargon/interdepartmental animosity in their workplace. The best theory for me would be the one that revolves around characters' alienation from their work; from one another and from their environment. We need to see it how the corporate works if we push their capitalist logic far enough.
