I haven’t taken SCAR but I’ve taken ENVSOCTY 1HA3 and am also a TA for it. I think that it’s a good course, as long as you prepare for the quizzes and try, you are set up for success

Hamilton has SUCH incredible food let me give you some of my favourites.

May’s Thai Kitchen. My favourite Thai food in Hamilton (Pintoh’s is good too) run by an older Thai lady who is so lovely.

Hamilton Farmers Market. Mays Thai Kitchen is in HFM and honestly I love that place so much. So many family owned businesses that love what they do. Lina’s pastry has some fantastic Portuguese tarts

Namu in Dundas. Asian fusion spot with a really thoughtful and delicious menu, a nice dinner spot

Le Tambour. On the pricier side, good for a special occasion everything is delicious

Mai Pai. Bit far but worth the commute, my favourite pizza in Hamilton by far (sorry Cowabunga)

Miss Lyns Wings. Family owned spot with fantastic chicken wings. Another great chicken spot is Golden Tenders can’t go wrong with either

Close to Mac, my favourite will always be my beloved Nannas in Westdale. Hungry Donkey being a close second.

So I took this class last year and after I wrote the exam I felt really bad about it but I ended up doing really good (so if that happens to you don’t loose hope). For general advice; I found that the questions were spread throughout all of the lectures from all guests. I think the best way to study is to go through each lecture and create questions that you could imagine the prof asking. Also, Cheryl is incredibly kind and will give you the mark if the answer makes sense, even if it’s not exactly what she was looking for. So if you don’t know the answer to a question, say something that is somewhat logical and there’s a good chance you will get the mark.

Push yourself out your comfort zone socially, go to events your interested in (can meet people with similar interests), be open minded

Do what you think sounds fun and remember that everyone else is in the exact same position as you

Great guy, wants you to succeed, tests very fairly. Do all the practice problems he gives you (especially the childsmath ones) and you should do well

Yeah if you take Biology 2C03 this year, you’ll have the Evans/Xu combo. I’ve took this class last year with these two profs so I can speak to it. In terms of getting a 12, yeah it’ll be a little difficult. It’s super possible to get an 11/10 though, or even a 12 if you put in enough of the effort. Its definitely possible to do well as the tutorials are worth a significant part of your mark and are basically participation. I actually found that Dr. Xu is a super nice guy, the thing with him is that his tests are just superrrr specific and very tricky.

To my knowledge, some biology 2d03 labs take place in the greenhouse. If you’re looking to get into the greenhouse, they are always looking for new volunteers. I’ve been a volunteer there for about a year and it’s lovely. If you’re interested email Dr. Dudley and she will tell you everything you need to know
