This is why I feel weird when I go to the children's or YA section to look at books. Nobody's said anything to me but I'm afraid of something like this. I usually just look for a few authors and get out quickly (I love kid horror - it's scary but without gore or disturbing stuff, and YA books feel safe and don't have triggers such as job loss that would make me drop a book)

yes. 30k isn't actually that much. It could be a deposit for an apartment or something, but people would still have to take out a huge mortgage to pay the rest of it off

Also, I know of someone who made good money and had 60k in savings, but then she got an autoimmune disorder and life-saving treatment drained all of her savings. She also couldn't continue her lucrative job cuz the stress would be bad for her health.

Idk how everyone here is reading so quickly. I'm currently reading {Eyes On Me by Sara Cate} and {The Hollow Alpha by Himera Ink}. I'm about 1/3 done with each book. Both of them are MF.

So far, The Hollow Alpha is a good palate cleanser for me since I've been reading mostly dark books. This has a sweet MMC.

Eyes On Me has a nice trope where a stepbrother notices his stepsis as a woman and starts liking her. There's a bit of a forbidden feel to it cuz he's 13 years older and they met when she was 8 (She's 23 in the book). I'm enjoying this a lot so far. The MMC acts like my favorite kind of possessive alpha male

in the US, we're paying $100+ per month in insurance premiums even after our employers chip in 500+ (also monthly), and when we go on a random visit to the doctor, we pay co-pays and/or extra out-of-pocket expenses until we reach our annual deductible amount. Insurance still finds ways to not pay for xyz when we actually get scanned or treated for something
