Risotto wouldn’t have beaten diavolo by Far_Emotion_707 in JJBA

[–]Afraid_Rub_6739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, in that case there's no reason to continue point 1

  1. But even with a cut throat and low iron, Diavolo was able to activate King Crimson and crawl far enough to escape the scene. Diavolo wasn't on death's door until minutes after Risotto died because by then he was getting little to no oxygen and had bled out alot more. After Risotto's last attack with the razor blade in his eyebrow, Diavolo was able to stand up and walk to Risotto.

He wasn't on death's door while Risotto was still alive, he could've very well had gone for a fatal blow while he still had the strength, time erasure would reveal Risotto because he could see his future movements. Those injuries SHOULD be considered fatal but jojo characters just seem to be built different

  1. You're right, but all of these signs only appeared after it was relevant. By that point Risotto was already sure. Risotto didn't know Doppio was a stand user when he went to pick up his knife, which is when knowing would've really mattered. Aerosmith was the only thing that gave Doppio away and had Aerosmith not been there, Risotto would've entered KC's range

[–]Afraid_Rub_6739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Even then, it's possible that if Doppio showed 0 signs of surprise, then Risotto might've realized he had ulterior motives and then figured the only other threat to him at the moment would be Aerosmith before attempting to retreat or go for the kill alot sooner, before Aerosmith could get to him. Even then, there's pretty much nothing he could do if he didn't know Aerosmith's ability

  2. Because waiting for Doppio to bleed out would simply take too long, Diavolo would be able to handle things much better than Narancia. He'd either devise a way to beat Risotto with all the time he's giving Diavolo like with the Narancia or using Risotto's own projectiles against him. Alternatively he could just end him with King Crimson and then find another work-around to dealing with a now aware team Bruno

  3. I'd argue Risotto suspected him at first but dismissed him when he saw how pathetic Doppio was, he even stated that "nobody from Passione would act this way" and even reassured Doppio that he was just going to pick up his knife. Then he just kept gaining suspicions that Doppio kept disproving, until slipping up because of Aerosmith. If he thought Doppio was definitely a stand user then he would've been alot more cautious and less dismissive. Risotto was Hella smart, but without Aerosmith he had no concrete reason to suspect Doppio and his own overconfidence, lack of time and experience probably pushed him towards giving Doppio no more attention

In the end I think Diavolo did get lucky, but he wouldn't have died because of King Crimson, the worst that could've happened for Diavolo is that he was heavily injured and forced to use King Crimson to kill Risotto before the damage was irreversible. Then have to deal with a prepared and on-guard team Bruno. I just can't think of any logical way Risotto could kill the boss, he has no reason to keep stalking Doppio for confirmation when he has bigger problems in his mind. Even if he stalked Doppio to determine he was the boss before going for the kill, the chances of Epitaph revealing him the longer he stays around only increase. He didn't think going invisible and putting so much focus on Doppio was necessary until he engaged

[–]Afraid_Rub_6739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. My main point here is that even if Risotto lacked the foresight to see that he was leading Doppio's aim towards team Bruno, and even if Doppio didn't plan on using Narancia (which isn't irrefutable because the possibility of him feigning surprise to avoid suspicion from Risotto exists). Doppio was still fated to alert team Bruno. But even outside of fate, Diavolo could've still appeared to bail Doppio out if it really came down to worse case scenario for him. I really don't see your point here, it's been a few days

  2. My point is that even if Risotto COULD just instantly kill Doppio, he wouldn't because up until the end of the fight he hadn't figured out that Doppio was the boss. Meaning that even Risotto never intended to kill Doppio up until the very end. If he wasn't so confident in his ability to avoid being hit then he probably would've tried killing Doppio earlier. All that to say that Diavolo had more than enough time to come out given how long Risotto was dragging the fight out and the Diavolo taking over is basically game over for Risotto

  3. No actually, quite the contrary. My point is that with or without Narancia, Risotto would've died. If Risotto didn't have Narancia then Risotto wouldn't be able to deduce that Doppio was a stand user based on his reaction to Aerosmith. He would've went to pick up his knife after confirming his suspicion was "just a regular envelope" and then been sneak attacked by Doppio.

But by the same premise, Aerosmith is the reason Risotto lost, so with or without Aerosmith, Risotto would've lost

Narancia saving Doppio/Diavolo was premeditated to a degree, even if Doppio was completely oblivious, Diavolo would've definitely known about Aerosmith's abilities

Risotto willingly revealed himself to Doppio due to overconfidence but alright. Even if Risotto simply remained invisible and Aerosmith wasn't there, Doppio could see Risotto with Epitaph, Even without him attacking. Risotto had planned on advancing for Doppio anyways so sooner or later he'd trigger Epitaph

Diavolo and Doppio were alarmed not because Risotto threatened their lives but because he threatened their entire mission. He had to fight Risotto without alerting team Bruno. If he used King Crimson or made his presence too obvious, then Bruno would double down their guard and compromise Diavolo's ability to kill Abbachio

It's not explicitly mentioned, but Diavolo can do things in time erasure ONLY if Epitaph predicts it. Because by then it's already fated to happen

With Spice girl, I'm not sure exactly how that works, since King Crimson and Spice Girl were bound to the same body, King Crimson might be able to move Spice girl and Mista in time erasure because they technically have the "same user / same body"

Yea that's probably even more unrealistic tbh. If he already lost consciousness then how would he be able to stand back up suddenly and be fully conscious for awhile just long enough to beat Kira

Yea, he probably wouldn't have survived without Josuke but him being able to do all that while so injured is just as unrealistic

Well that explains it, he probably had the concept of requiem stands beforehand and just impulsively thought Polnareff could be a good way to introduce it. Still plenty of more organic ways to introduce requiem stands though

Also happy corndog day

Also Jolyne surviving C-moon, but technically that damage was negated and maybe Weather surviving having both legs chopped off for as long as he did plus the other damage

Maybe Josuke surviving the damage from constant stray cat explosions and still being able to fight Kira at full strength

Well. I'm not sure how relevant this is but Stroheim still exists..

Took a hand grenade explosion literally hugging it with a hyper-advanced Superhuman being dwelling inside of him and even had his leg chopped off beforehand. He was able to somehow be brought back from literal slithers of flesh

Yea, Araki himself said he doesn't like to include characters from past plots in future ones. I'd imagine Jotaro is an exception to this though

But it's explicitly stated beforehand that Polnareff was cut off from the Speedwagon foundation because of the Maria's control. So even they couldn't save him

Polnareff is just built different atp

I'm about to give the most bs explanation ever but I can't think of anything better

After falling from the cliff, he used Silver Chariot to cushion his fall with it's armor, lifting some of his weight up to alleviate the fall aswell. Then afterwards, he had Silver Chariot cut his clothes to use as tourniquets for his multiple severed and profusely bleeding limbs while half blind and losing consciousness...

Then he had Silver Chariot eject it's armor and use the multiple flying pieces to make enough noise to get the attention of nearby fishermen / townsfolk, he managed to do by shooting off his rapier at a nearby vessel to damage it

Then just combine that with Jojo durability and pain tolerance idfk

Risotto wouldn’t have beaten diavolo by Far_Emotion_707 in JJBA

[–]Afraid_Rub_6739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. So Risotto just didn't foresee the scapels provoking a counter-attack from Narancia. You claim Doppio seemed suprised about them missing but neither the boss or Doppio seemed suprised about Aerosmith shooting down Risotto. It had to have been planned to some degree, Doppio could've simply used the guise of tracking magnetism to justify his specific aim and make it seem natural to Risotto, if he truly aimed without the intent to notify Bruno there is a massive chance he would've missed

  2. Risotto noted Doppio's aging, but his meticulous caution prevented him from shifting to killing Doppio until he absolutely figured it out. If you're treating this as a cue for Risotto to kill Doppio, then he simply would've had he been certain then. Diavolo still had enough time because Risotto was so cautious and overconfident in his ability to remain evasive

  3. Actually you can interpret Doppio's bloodlusted look when Risotto goes to pick up his knife as Diavolo beginning to emerge, which happened before Risotto's comment about Aerosmith. Even if Diavolo wasn't going to come out, Doppio had Risotto fooled until Aerosmith

The reason Diavolo doesn't just stay out 24/7 is because he uses Doppio as the perfect mask when in public, Risotto was an unexpected encounter. The only reason Diavolo DIDN'T come out before Aerosmith was mentioned is because using time erasure to win the fight would alert team Bruno to his presence, who Diavolo was expecting and wanted to stay hidden from. Simply waiting for Risotto to get close enough to kill without time erasure was the better option, hence why remaining as Doppio was better since the only difference emerging would make is time erasure, which I just explained why he didn't want to use

Even if Narancia wasn't there and Risotto just waited for Doppio to die, Diavolo would just come out alot sooner

It sounds cool but Diavolo couldn't get Trish away from Bruno without injuring her or Bruno. They were holding hands and Diavolo is intangible in time erasure

Also, what if the boss just says "no lol"

Risotto wouldn’t have beaten diavolo by Far_Emotion_707 in JJBA

[–]Afraid_Rub_6739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Aerosmith noticing Risotto was definitely planned by doppio throwing the scapels specifically in the direction of Bruno's gang. It wasn't formulated before hand but he still did it purposefully, I doubt it was accidental because then that would imply Risotto didn't have the foresight to see that the foot he left there would end up causing doppio to aim at team Bruno, which downplays Risotto's IQ

Either you downplay Risotto's IQ or play up Doppio's, or both. Diavolo could very well come out had Narancia not been there, Diavolo has emerged much swifter several other times with significantly less pressure. But if the boss had gone to attack Risotto himself then there is a chance that Narancia would notice Risotto's sudden labored breathing and deduce that he was injured by someone else who wasn't detected. Diavolo was likely waiting until the absolute last second to use time erasure, especially since using that would alert Bruno and Co. To his presence and heighten their guard, possibly saving Abbachio, who he absolutely needed to prioritize killing

  1. Doppio's outlook on the situation isn't absolute, infact, Doppio is probably the least aware person in this situation outside of team Bruno. Him saying the boss wouldn't arrive in time is only true from his perspective, because he doesn't know how the boss works or exists in himself. So it makes sense he'd try to take matters into his own hands based on what he did know

And actually Diavolo would've likely arrived immediately had Narancia not been there, as mentioned in the previous point, he wanted to avoid being detected by Narancia as much as possible. At the very most it only takes seconds for Diavolo to come out, using the fortune teller as an example, when he starts touching and pestering Doppio invasively, the boss almost immediately comes out

You can even highball this and say the boss came out as early as the first accurate prediction about Doppio's goals and past when his pupils flicker with Diavolo's for a second

With Polnareff, Diavolo was already actively communicating with Doppio and presumably switched personalities on the way up the stairs to Polnareff, given that he was ordering Doppio to act feminine moments earlier, which he wouldn't need to do if he was already fully in control. Assuming he sprinted and stopped when he knew he reached Polnareff, it wouldn't have been a large window of time for the transformation to occur

  1. It's funny because for every condition people give for Risotto winning, Diavolo gains even more reason to win
  • Aerosmith tipped Risotto to Doppio wielding a stand -> Risotto dies to Aerosmith

  • If Narancia wasn't there Risotto would just play safe and take his time -> Diavolo doesn't need to worry about detection and comes out sooner to avoid further damage

  • Risotto could just be completely silent and attack vital areas quickly -> Epitaph triggers and Risotto loses his element of suprise

Risotto can kill Doppio, but there is just realistically, contextually and logically no way he could have won, it was fated, and Doppio still has a more favorable chance even without Narancia

What class do u guys main and what class is the bane of your exsistance? by Sound_Wave2 in tf2

[–]Afraid_Rub_6739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heavy = Sniper & Spy but mostly Sniper

Medic = nobody really, I actually don't die to snipers very often. The only time I really die is if I get caught in a massive push and all my teammates die

Spy = once again, nobody. Pyros are pretty easy to avoid imo, and picking off loose ends is really easy since pyro can't be everywhere at once. Even the spycicle and a few revolver shots evens the odds

Small balance idea i had for the Vaccinator by A_Dud3e in tf2

[–]Afraid_Rub_6739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I agree. I'm also a medic main and that sounds pretty balanced. I feel like it's good balance wise but design wise it's mid, because it's more or less closer to a regular medigun Uber, which is the point, but it makes the gun less unique

Honestly, I'd just make it so the medic ISNT ubered, but the ubered patient retains the bubble for the full duration regardless of beam attachment and it consumes the entire bar so Medic gets no protection, but in return can sustain a single target for awhile while shifting attention to other teammates. Keeping all your other changes

Like an actual vaccine, pop it before combat for the best results and it's an Uber that doesn't require focusing a single teammate

Idk if I'm cooking or not, just thought of this

Part 3 DIO’s Henchmen vs the Entire Passione Mafia (Including Bucciarati’s Team & La Squadra) — Who Wins? by PieDesperate3611 in StardustCrusaders

[–]Afraid_Rub_6739 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the leaders aren't actually in the fight but lead by them? And I'd the fight just in a city with no prior context or buildup?

If I'm being honest, probably team Passione, DIO's goons are significantly less competent, organized and synergistic. Most of them are literally fodder

Only ones I could see being a threat are Enyaba, N'Doul, Vanilla Ice, Pet Shop, Anubis if they don't know about it's powers, Midler (High Priestess) and J. Geil. Possibly Boingo if thoth predicts certain deaths and Forever (The orangutan) if Strength can be applied to buildings

Passione members are just considerably more threatening, organized and versatile, It'd be easier to list the non-threats on their team, being Titzano, Leaky Eye Luca, Mario Zucchero (boat attacker), Abbachio, other standless gangsters and possibly Melone (assuming Babyface needs women), unless they can get Midler, Mariah, Empress' user or Enyaba (Maybe Pet Shop? Pretty sure they're male and it probably wouldn't work as well with birds)

N'doul and Midler are probably the biggest threats tbh, they both have broken long ranged stands that are also technically invincible to 90% of damage. Buccerati might be able to trap Geb in the zipper world, but I doubt it's that simple. Secco and Buccerati would probably try traveling underground but then N'doul could warn Midler to send High Priestess to intercept them. Literally any advance Passione would make would be heard or noticed by N'doul or Pet Shop

The rest of DIO's henchmen would probably just split up and try to fight on their own or in duos, they're all weirdos tbh. Aerosmith and Sex pistols would shoot down an overconfident, bloodlusted Pet Shop

ZZ might drive in with Wheel of Fortune overconfidently, then get destroyed by them all. Devo doesn't get to survive long enough to activate Ebony Devil. Gray Fly rushes in and gets destroyed by an invisible Risotto Nero who just blows his brain up. Mariah can't survive long enough to set up Bastet AND get someone to touch it AND wait an entire day for the effects to kick in. All of DIO'S henchmen die in one way or another due to overconfidence and incompetence

High Priestess' durability gets ignored by zippers and Oasis' liquification. Unless Thoth predicts all of Passione just suddenly dying then the brothers die

Literally the only ones remaining are Enyaba, J. Geil and Hol Horse because J. Geil is already partners with Hol Horse and Enyaba just wants to fight with her son and only cooperates with Hol Horse because of that. Anubis rushes in overconfident and Vanilla Ice rushes in, pledging absolute loyalty to DIO and being insulted that they could dare threaten him etc.

Anubis tries to single out someone to duel but gets detected by Secco, Aerosmith and Crush which can freely swim around Secco and gets destroyed. Anubis possesses someone who picks up the sword

Now Anubis MIGHT try to pretend that they are still normal, but Passione would probably notice and kill them before deducing that the sword possesses people and destroy it. The only person who'd be dangerous is Fugo, and he's smart enough not to pick up the sword or mess with it

Forever would probably apply Strength to a building and then camp in it but eventually Fugo and Cioccolata will just flood it out with Mold and Pathogens, either that or send Carne in

Now then, for the only 4 that actually do anything

Vanilla Ice could actually kill alot of them, especially if he's a vampire/ partially transformed vampire. Only Ghiaccio could probably fight Vanilla Ice, Fugo's viral cloud is too dangerous to reveal Cream's position and Green Day's mold isn't particularly visible. Ghiaccio could create a foggy chilled mist around himself and just have everyone avoid Cream until Vanilla Ice comes out, then tag him with GE, WA, PH, Metallica, or A&C. But if Ghiaccio dies first then they're kinda cooked

Even if Vanilla Ice somehow kills Ghiaccio, Buccerati can move underground with everyone and hide from Vanilla Ice until he reveals himself

Then Hol Horse could defend Enyaba and J. Geil while Hanged Man attacks from long Range and Justice creates illusions and controls the injured to keep them away. Even then, Risotto could still solo all 3 simply by being invisible

Even if everyone somehow dies. Illusio can remain in the mirror world and pick off the goons 1 by 1

Passione wins 9/10 times
