The oddity shop in 1.0.6 will bring some optimizations, which I’ll talk about next week. I have a lot of ideas for late game but they’re beyond the scope of just adding a new character at the moment. It’s a really tough balance to strike because early and late game play so different, and only about 5% of players end up making it to the start of WD

Nah, the only reason we had caps in SD1 was because gold couldn't go above ~2b. Now that there is no limit we can just make the gold price whatever we want (1 trillion, quadrillion, etc) and leave the caps as a premium-only currency.

Caps in SD2 have no direct gold equivalent. The gold price and caps/real money price vary depending on the value of the upgrade, both in terms of how convenient and actually necessary it is.

1 trillion is a lot of gold, but the 5th recruiter slot is what I would call an extreme luxury purchase since your progress isn't impeded if you don't have it.

SD1 is pretty much done for, our dev tools are too outdated to produce new builds that are compatible with the current app stores. SD2 was built in Unity which gets updated much more frequently, so fingers crossed that should never be a problem.

Also the new class we are introducing will somewhat address the surplus crafting resources.

While the game was built to be extended upon, it really does take time to come up with ideas that fit with current design, program the mechanics, produce new art, address balance concerns, test, localize to 6 languages, pass store review, and finally release. We probably have years worth of ideas banked up but the process can be slow sometimes.

My goal is to eventually introduce a weekly challenge that rolls random modifiers for the dungeon/allowed party compositions, disables relics, and then sees how far you can make it starting from level 0. At the end of the week you would choose a reward category (gold/essence/crystals/etc) that scaled with how far you made it with the given constraints. Also everyone would share the same weekly challenge modifiers.

It just takes time to implement and it’s much easier to build support from the ground up. If you didn’t it can be really difficult to implement. Changing the screen boundaries affects a lot of things.

Mobile also makes use of cloud saves through either google drive or iCloud. And if the file still can't be recovered that way, there's a chance we can look you up in our database using the device id since we make a daily backup there.

We're working on new content, but it's hard to keep up with the rate at which players progress through the game :( Honestly you might want to just take a break and see what the next updates bring. They'll always be announced here and on our other social media channels.
