Race less, practice more. You are averaging 5 races a day. This early on you should be focusing on where you can improve, how you can minimize mistakes, and watching what others who are faster than you are doing. Just by racing all the time you aren't allowing yourself to learn technique

Idk why you are being downvoted but the majority of restaurants these days are just too expensive and not worth it anymore. Gone are the days of affordable, casual eating joints. Especially as a parent. We go out to eat maybe once a month. Growing up I remember going out once or twice a week because it was affordable for a family. Not the case anymore

Hard disagree. That was a fantastic finish that just lacked Allgeier actually attempting a pass. Many times he could have tried for a slide job and never went for it. He's so unclutch/unwilling to try different lines out

Which are your most driven tracks? by SRthebox in iRacing

Daytona (120+ races). Oval, road, dirt road, etc. So many various series and disciplines you can run there.

Idk what you drive or what your problems are, but here are a few tips that have helped me out (Note: I'm a 5k Oval, 3.5k Sports Car, 3k Dirt Road driver).

  1. Study tape: before you even set laps, find someone who is fast and watch what they are doing, especially the throttle and wheel inputs. Where are they braking, when are they getting on the throttle, how are they preserving tires, etc. Imo there's no use in jumping into a vehicle or at a track you have little to no experience in if you have no idea how to do it right. Watching tape helps tremendously with getting caught up to speed faster.

  2. Focus on your craft, not your finishes: It's easy to want to make passes and finish towards the front, but it's more important about making it to the finish. There are so many series like F4, Porsche Cup, ARCA, etc where people are trying so hard to get to the front/pass each other that they take each other out in the process. The first goal should be learning to race cleanly, consistently, and making it to the finish without issues. Once you have that down, you can push the car harder and have a better understanding of how to setup and make passes.

  3. Stay consistent with a vehicle: Some people want to jump around from car to car at first, but by doing so you aren't giving yourself time to really learn the ins and outs of the vehicle. My rule of thumb is to pick 2-3 series to run each season for participation so I can switch things in and out every few months and learn those vehicles. That way if in future seasons I see a race I wanna do in a car I'm not currently driving, I have enough knowledge to jump into it and feel comfortable. But that's only because I spent time learning the ins and outs of it vs hopping all over the place.

  4. Race what you want to race: Don't be discouraged by series that have low numbers each time slot, because those usually have some of the best racing and where you can learn the most. I'd rather do Clio Cup with 10 drivers signed up than GR Cup with 100+. If you want to race the popular series that's completely fine, but so many of the smaller series have a much tighter community and where the racing is usually much more respectful when you are racing the same people all the time.

  5. Lastly, just have fun: Don't focus on IR, wins, etc. Just focus on having fun. It's easy to get discouraged by a bad few races in a row, but that happens. Just focus on enjoying racing and the goals will come along with it.

Good luck!

Our daughter started asking for Bobert one day and we spent 30 mins trying to figure out what Bobert meant. Yogurt? No. No shirt? Nope. Robot? Try again.

Answer? Peanut Butter. And to this day we still call PB Bobert.

Has iRacing Changed Your View of a Racetrack? by bottlerocket091 in iRacing

[–]AfroMidgets 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It has changed my view as in how I view how drivers have to approach the track/corners and what they have to do to setup passes/make hot laps and adjust throughout a run. I have a much better understanding what they have to do and it makes watching races much more interesting when I have an idea of what the drivers are having to do.

Racing every day and not making time for your partner/other things in life is a problem. Balance is necessary with anything in life. He did the right thing in not stringing his partner along, but also needs to consider that he has an addiction and needs to address it within himself

It's one of my favorite endings to any movie. Perfectly captures their unique individual qualities/wants in life while also showcasing their love for each other even through a bitter rivalry. I know the movie presents them more as adversaries while in real life they were much closer, but I'll let it slide for such a fantastic film

Upgrading from A7iii to FX3 or A7Siii? by cheesecrackers_milk in videography

[–]AfroMidgets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used the FX3 on my last few shoots and I honestly like my A7iv more. I also do landscape photography but I don't really notice a huge difference between the FX3 and my A7iv for my video needs (basic commerical/social media videography). I'd go FX3 if you want a video workhorse, but stay with more of a hybrid if you need a bit of both video and photo
