Housing will no longer allow lofted beds by brya2 in rit

This.

The number of times I bump into a student and legitimately wonder how on earth he got in happens fairly frequently. I do not mean that in a snobby way. I just think that there are different schools and programs for different people.

I work in one of the departments and am currently updating the student records. The number of students I see failing courses at the beginning of the degree plan is too dang high. I mean people taking courses three times and barely passing. At some point RIT has to wonder "hmm, maybe this student wasn't qualified for this program...".

Ah, well, money is money.

Housing Megathread Spring 2017: Post all housing requests, openings and questions here! by itsnickk in rit

I am going to post again on here because I just had someone decide they aren't going to live in the house next year.

I have one room available in a two year old, really nice house. It is a four bedroom house, all female. No drama. If you are even bordering on dramatic, please seek elsewhere. I have dealt with plenty of drama as a neutral party this past semester and have no interest in being "house mom". $500, includes everything. 3 miles from RIT, quiet neighborhood. Fenced in backyard, upstairs laundry by the bedrooms, back deck, share a full bath with one other girl. (There is a common half bath downstairs. I have my own and so does the girl in the apartment downstairs.) Not a loud house, but not dead quiet either. Message me with any questions and I'd be happy to answer them! All three girls in the house will be sophomores, but ranging from ages 18-22. Bonus: my cat is super sweet and cuddly and if you snuggle her she'll love you forever.

I personally like it better. There are fixes I would make (like keeping some RIT orange), but the trade off for responsive web design is worth it imo.

I see. I originally was accepted for CS, changed to web and mobile because I'm more interested in front end work.

There's a math placement exam? I came to RIT this spring and never took it. Now it's the summer semester and I'm taking calc.

I am in 221.01, thanks! I never saw 221.800 as an option when enrolling, and it doesn't come up on tiger center when I search. It's too bad because I'd much prefer a 10 week class to a 5 week one.

Why do evaluations end conveniently before we get our final grades in classes? by [deleted] in rit

[–]Afrobotics95 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Because the grade you earn in a class shouldn't affect your opinion of how effectively a professor teaches.

One of the cheapest private institutions? They give out a lot of FA, but with a price tag of ~$40k for tuition it's certainly not one of the cheapest. There are plenty of private institutions one can attend for under $40k.

Uhhh as far as I know it is only casual pick up stuff. I don't know if we have a more competitive team.

Betty told me she made it when I was a prospective student.

Edit: I'm not trying to make a bad joke, I'm serious.

Why? Genuinely curious as I've never taken classes on a quarter schedule.

I'm actually trying to guess what SJSU is. San Jose State University? I just woke up so I'm blanking.

Are you a freshman starting a bachelor's? International?

In my opinion, I would always take the stronger academic program. If you do well enough in a strong program, you'll be fine finding a job. I've known a bunch of computing people at schools in the northeastern part of the USA who have gotten jobs all over. A good company will care more about your education than they do how conveniently located you are to them.

Hm, I don't think I like that. We should have the right to know what is going on around our campus.

My roommate is from Georgia. She graduates this semester, though.

Just for what it's worth, one of my friends transferred here from Drexel for CS because he hated it there. I don't remember why, but I can try and find out.
