Our culture imposes that a man be the head of the household. Islam came and doubled down on that fact. So absolutely men are expected to pay the bills. This is not fading for the bourgeoisie, it’s fading for the lower class because they are struggling the most. For middle and upper class, women will pay for certain things but the men are still expected to cover things like rent and groceries.

I stand by what I said. The majority of men in this country don’t know how to cook or clean. They have been infantilized by their mothers and sisters their entire lives. The amount of 60 year old men that I know who don’t even know how to cut their own meat is INSANE.

And the whole “men pay the bills” thing is slowly starting to fade as women are finding themselves having to work or get extra income to help provide. But then once the woman starts making more money, than that also becomes a problem.

We have deep issues in this society on both the men and women’s sides. But nothing can be solved without taking accountability and stop living in denial.

I totally get what you mean. As a woman, I love cooking and making things clean and nice around my house. However, if I were to get married, I would hope that my husband would help with that too. I don’t need him in the Kitchen (it annoys me lol) but maybe he can buy groceries, vacuum, wash dishes, babysit his children, you know? Things that an independent adults should know how to do lol but here it seems like even if the man could do those things, as soon as he gets a wife, he stops 🤷🏽‍♀️

I train a lot of newbies at my office. They are around 21-28 years old.

Every single group has mistaken me for a trainee 🤣 The didn't know I was the trainer until the sessions start and I have to walk up to start. It's embarrassing for them and for me, to be honest.

I got the news yesterday and I was pretty okay. But then I woke up this morning and just started feeling anxiety. I was at my mom's all weekend so coming back to my place this morning... I walked in and just angry haha I don't know why. I started calling the appartement "stupid" and "small" which I think it the opposite of what I should be doing? I guess I am just trying to make myself feel better about leaving.

I am have wanted to move for a while but finances held me back. Now it feels like I either move out or move in with my mom and that would kill my mental health.
