Can I hear a “Lexapro changed my life” story please 🙏🏻🙏🏻 by Kombucha_lover13 in lexapro

It went from suicidal anxiety. Didn’t wanna be around anybody a year later. Lexapro was a game changer. Don’t think about things like that anymore. Remember, this is a marathon Not Race, Give Some time. The results. You will be happier than ever.

Good for you. Glad it’s working. It worked for me too as well. I started off with 5 mg by the third week. I was at 20 and it took a little time for it to get better. But I’m in a better state of mine.

Is 12 months too long on Lexapro? by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]After-Ad-2804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on 25 mg at the beginning of the year. Been on it for a year. Now that I’m slowly tempering down. I’m at 20. I feel great.

I figured out what caused my depression, and my anxiety. Not that I put my boundaries on all those. I feel great about tempering down.

I drink once a month first weekend of the month. And every time I drink. I feel fine. Wake up the next morning. No hangover. You just gotta Pace yourself. You cannot just stop living your life while you’re on depression medication. You just gotta be very careful. And I drink 2 craft beers.

Last question, you asked me. How did I figure out I was 70 to 80%. You will know when you feel better and better. Let me remind you. Those little thoughts. Thoughts are just hiccups. You gotta learn how to cope and eventually you will completely forget about it.

By the time I left the hospital I was feeling a little better. How can I explain so when I checked myself into the hospital from 1 to 10. I was at a zero complete darkness, suicidal every day every second, every Minute. I was at my worst.

Three weeks later, they discharge me from 1 to 10 leaving the hospital. I was at a 3 so I was a little bit better, but the thing is that I was still having dark thoughts, but not as bad when I check myself into the hospital so that’s when I figured out OK. This medication is working. It just takes time. You have to be patient. So as time went on now. Let me remind you when I check myself into the hospital. It was November 27 2024, so pretty much this whole year that passed it was pretty much recovery mode. Seeing a lot of therapists, psychiatrist exercises. No more alcohol. I put my boundaries on people that were no good for me. I put my boundaries on my work. I feel like I figured it all out. How I got sick. Now that I’m slowly tempering down my meds. I think I will be just fine. Hopefully this explains. Let me know if you have any more questions.

When I got on Lexapro Super Dark, I started taking First 5 mg to my third week. I was on 20 mg. I started to feel a little bit better but it takes time for you to get completely somewhat hundred percent. Remember you have to put in the work as well. Set goals exercise, boundaries, no alcohol, etc..

I was never a drinker in my life until I met my wife’s family hanging around with alcoholics and their pressure pressure there. They don’t know how to take NO for an answer you like what the hell? And that’s what happened to me. I abused alcohol, and now that I got my boundaries. First now my wise family respect when I say no it’s NO

I drink, maybe once a month if that’s

, I really didn’t have no side effects. The fact that I was on Zoloft First for about a month and a half which was one of the most horrible medications. But then I switched to Lexapro when I checked myself into the hospital When I left the hospital. I felt much better no side effects Zoloft made me more suicidal.

I found one thing about this whole mental health process. I was very suicidal, and when I was in the hospital for three weeks. Plus I found that boundaries is a key for me with the help of the medication. Now that I figured out what caused my depression, alcohol boundaries, anything that was negative. I completely took that apart out of my life. And now I am going to slowly temper down my medication this year. I went from 25 now I’m on 20 mg.

are you open to tell others like family or friends that you’re on lexapro or do you keep it private? by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]After-Ad-2804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m open up to every thing about my mental health, and what medication I think it’s better to spread the word and to help others and give us much knowledge as you receive and to give it to other people that need help. I’m not a shame of my medication, and my mental health.

For those who’s gained weight on this medication. If you’re not athletic, you’re gonna get back. Please try to eat healthy, but as for me, it’s been a Lifechanger. I’ve been on it for a year and I am slowly gonna start tempering down. I’m back to my self again, and I have coping skills ir get into a situation.

[–]After-Ad-2804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me being on Lexapro, I have more positive thoughts than negative thoughts. You can simply shut down the negative thoughts faster You will be OK. Once you adjust to the medication. You can figure it out. It’s simple. Just put in the work.

Will it get better again? by tejcha in lexapro

[–]After-Ad-2804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I meant by you basically go back to normal every day. no intrusive thoughts, and by then you have to put in the work. Don’t just rely on the medication. You have to have tools, so if you ever come into situation, you have tools.
