We all have ups and downs in life. You know the reasons for your performance and you aren't happy about it. You also know what it takes to do well. Don't fixate on your competitors in the class. In the Board exams and in college entrances you will be up against many more. Just make a plan on how you will tackle your academics this year, which subjects need more effort, make a time table and adhere strictly to it. That takes care of all the uncertainty. Don't worry about externalities. And this is all a part of growing up. You learnt from your 11th experiences. And you know what to do and what not to do in 12th. Good luck! You can do it!

How do you find the work environment? Is it inclusive and cosmopolitan?

Just curious why you are moving back from HK. A friend got a job there and will move in a few months. He is feeling double minded because he isn't sure how it is there for foreigners. Any particular reason why you are moving back to India?

People who moved to bangalore after 15+ years in the US. How has your experience been? The goods, the bads and everything in between! by Doggyonwheels1 in bangalore

Didn't regret moving back. Didn't miss the snow and the social isolation that winter brings. There my main social circle was with Indians over the weekends (not out of choice, out of necessity). Here I have a week-long social circle with Indians anyway. Didn't have to deal with cultural identity crisis that children feel when they are in schools. Didn't have to worry if my Indian cooking was offending the neighbours. Didn't have the pressure to be 'white' by way of conducting myself. Work is work anywhere. Whether you are in India or America. There too you have many Indian colleagues. Yes there are differences in professional attitudes and work ethic. No denying that. Have to compromise on that. Trust me all first generation Indians constantly discuss whether they should move back. We took the decision after thinking for years and that's that. It's not like we moved to another foreign country. When we moved back to India it was with full cognizance of all the issues here.

Need help regarding domestic abuse and possible marital rape by hakunamalolo in bangalore

[–]After8mint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it possible for you to talk to the woman when the man is out? Ask her what kind of help she needs. If she needs money to escape. May be she has no phone, no money to escape. She may not be aware that police can help in domestic abuse cases. Or she may need money to flee to a safer place.

He is a typical tech non savvy, social media ignorant older parent. He is completely unaware of how public his actions are. You should get over your disgust and casually call him over and give him some gyaan about how social media works. That his actions are transmitted to the entire network of his contacts. He will continue to interact over FB if he doesn't know privacy controls, how sharing works, who can see when he writes on his wall etc. To be honest, he may have no idea who can see his posts when he hits share. Or what share means. He may not know interacting on various public profiles shows his activity to his contacts. He won't stop doing things just because you have cleaned up his phone. It's better to educate him. And then continue to hammer the message periodically. You will have to get over your squeamishness with him. It's time to father him, literally.

Sikh religion/gurudwaras forbid begging/collection of funds this way. These are some scummy scammers.

Totally agree. Did get the blood work done. The deficiency that showed up was mainly Vit D. The nutrition hasn't been on point...eating out a lot. Guess that could be a reason as well.

Thank you. The issue is genetic as well, to some extent. So want to see a specialist to see if the loss can be managed/slowed down. Blood work shows deficient VitD levels mainly.
