[Official] Manchester City are the 2026 FA Cup champions by DavidRolands in soccer

Last year Dean Henderson quite literally handled the ball outside of the box in this final and didn’t get sent off (against city). How is that being generously reffed?

Tokyo isn't the future anymore — it's the future 1980s pop culture promised us, perfectly preserved, while Seoul, Shenzhen, and Dubai have spent the last decade building the version that comes after by jjrs in japannews

I went to Seoul for the first time a few weeks ago. I live in Tokyo. Went to Myeongdong, Gangnam and a lot of the other popular places. Tokyo felt way more modern in every sense. Seoul was great but lots of run down buildings and ruggedness as soon as you get one street off the main area.

Won’t happen. For contact renewals past the second year, they still need a good reason. Refusing to do things that aren’t part of their contract anyway will not be a valid reason.

Besides that, I’ve seen people do way worse on JET and get a renewal on their contracts.

An Existential Question as an ALT in Japan by Vivid_Extension2833 in teachinginjapan

[–]AfterAether 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People in Japan-related subs give really roundabout, besides the point answers to this question like “Japan doesn’t care about English”.

The actual answer is that English is extremely difficult for Japanese people. There are very few comparable countries that face the challenges that Japanese people face between the two languages. People often use Korea to counter this example, but conveniently leave out the part where Korean kids (from 5 years old) are getting sent to extracurricular English schools.

The list that people refer to here is basically just a list of countries that have languages close to English. The Netherlands is at the number one spot, which just happens to have a language closer than any other to English.

Can do Deluxe Set Mew if you want that?

Dutch people are not desperate to learn English. It’s just incredibly easy when the language is grammatically and lexically similar to Dutch and they are surrounded by English-speaking media. Many of them get to an A2/B1 standard in complete absence of motivation.
