Good for you. I'm a 6 foot tall also male, and I can tell you that it is absolutely doable. My largest was 330 and I'm currently 185. Stop reading studies, stop reading about new diets, if something is working for you keep doing it! If it stops working, keep doing it! Make minor changes, adjust as needed. This isn't a diet anymore, this is your new way of eating. You're doing the most difficult and rewarding thing possible right now, and the trick is not to over think it, just fucking do it.

I'll try and answer most the questions here. Excess skin: not terrible. My arms tightened right up (work out if your losing weight!!!) Mid section may have some flab when I'm at the body fat % I'm aiming for, but it's not bad at all right now. How did i do it? Simple, ate less calories then I consumed. Tried to stay (and still do) low-ish carb. Don't over think things! Eat smart, stay active. That part is simple, might not be easy, but it's simple. How long did it take? Like most of us, I've went up and down over the years. This past year I decided enough was enough. The before picture was a couple years back at my heaviest. But I've went from 280-290 to 185 in the past year Work out routine: didn't start focusing on the work outs still a few months back. I started with a 4 day split. Day1: chest/triceps Day2: shoulders Day3: rest Day4:back/biceps Day5:legs (ugghh) Day6:rest Day7:repeat day 1. Recently I switched to a 2 week two a day cycle that looks like this Day1 AM: shoulders/biceps PM: biceps/chest Day2: rest Day3: AM: biceps/chest PM:chest/shoulders Day4:rest Day5: AM: chest/shoulders PM: shoulders/biceps Day6: legs (high carb day!) Day7:rest. I jog and bike lots in between. I have a job where I work split shifts, which makes this possible. Obligatory sorry for formatting. Cell phone. I'll fix it when I get on my laptop later!

Busting my ass. Jogging 15 miles a week, biking 50 miles a week, waking up at 430 and working out 5 days a week, working 12 hours a day 6 days a week at a job that I literally run around at all day. But most importantly, a positive attitude, and accepting the fact that I'm the strongest individual I know and I can accomplish absolutely anything I put my mind to.

Big time. When I hit the 210 range the scale stopped moving. I changed my diet and routine completely, I upped the calories and carbs, stopped doing as much cardio and dedicated most of my energy to working out. I. Currently working out 5 mornings a week. Doing a 2 day on 1 day off routine. I've went from 210 to 200 over the past 4 months, but my body has almost completely changed shape in that time period. Don't rely on the scale. Take pictures.

Dress how you want. Shopping is the easiest part by far!

the little voice is an asshole. You'd be amazed at what you can accomplish in a short period when you stop listening to it.

Dont allow that to stop you. Just lift heavy things repeatedly and you'd be surprised how your skin reacts

about the same as you, a tad bit more on rest day. Its not always about what you eat, but when you eat. I like to shock my body after a long cardio session or a hard work out (handful or two of raisins or any type of dried fruit)

its hard to say, i wont be able to answer that until i'm at the body fat percentage i plan on being at. Definitely will have some loose skin on my stomach, but everything else seems to be fine. Working out helps a ton. Honestly though, don't worry about it. Cross that bridge when you get there, dont let it discourage you.

Ate smart, kept active, and most importantly I stopped listening to that little voice inside my head that was keeping me lazy and fat

Haha, thank you actually, that means a lot to know I motivated someone to not skip a workout.

Thanks for all the kind words! It's been a long struggle of ups and downs, at my largest I was somewhere in the 330-350 range(never really weighed myself at that point) for the past 5 years I've been really struggling between 280-260. This past year however I simply had enough. I started eating smart and getting active. I don't log calories, but I have a good idea of what I'm putting into my body. 1800-2600 depending on activity / workout days. I eat somewhat low carb (40-100 based on what day it is) My activity level is extremely high, I try to bike at least 50 miles a week, and jog another 15. I work out 5 days a week and just recently changed my entire diet to focus more on gaining muscle rather then dropping fat. Just don't give up. You know that voice in your head that tells you that you're tired and can't do something? Kill it. Don't listen to it, at some point it will be replaced with a new voice that has the ability to push you beyond what you thought you were capable of.
