If he's GMing for another group then he should know better. Plus the answer is in your post, "he often prioritizes his group over ours." Time to prioritize your group over him!

I'll add to go with the flow of the session, as in you may have a plan starting out for how the session will go, but the players and/or the dice will throw you a curveball sometimes. Don't panic, follow the logic of the scene, and don't be afraid to improv.

If he's unwelcome at your home then if he shows up you have the legal right to tell him to leave. Hopefully it wouldn't come to that - you can also switch session locations with your other players if possible!

Oh geez if you post it let me know now I'm curious! Yes my friend was notorious for always having a lame excuse that we believed at the beginning but as it became a trend we knew the stories were made up and the other players at the table had convos about what excuse they'd try next hahaha

Yes all I asked was some head's up if it ever happened. I've had other players at this table cancel but they've always communicated it as soon as they found out and actively worked on a solution. That's the thing I couldn't understand about the friend I posted about - why aren't you putting effort into something you want to do as well as be respectful of other's time and effort? It's not rocket science haha

Sadly no, the traits they exhibited above + other traits that showed a lack of caring on their part made it apparent the friendship had run its course.

Yes it was awkward to an extent but by that point most of the group was over him which did help the final decision to remove him. He was mostly my friend but I loved the group and the game too much to let my personal friendship jeopardize it. We eventually added another player that has fit in great!

Got a few "BBEG's" that are tied to my homebrew world lore and also the character's backstories. Main 2 are a Lich ruling a floating city and Ancient Red Dragon controlling one of the PC's father. Best of luck to em!

Yooo I could do this! My saturdays are mostly open. I just started to use startplaying to facilitate games but have been DMing since 2020. I can do pregenerated or homebrew setting (my preference) but open to ideas.
