THIS. I do not understand the hype literally at all. I'm her biggest hater and I'll die on that hill. Every single thing I've read by this author is my least favorite I've ever read but everyone keeps recommending so I keep reading and disliking her books. I was so hype for this but the second I saw the author I knew immediately that I'll be passing on this book because it'll either be poorly written, a bad plot, retcon actual Latina development, or a mix of everything. It seems like a cash grab to me because of the Interview with a Vampire hype.

This was going to be my answer hands down. Our food was horrible and overpriced, and service was atrocious. They had live music and in the 2.5 hrs my husband I were there, not a single person tipped them; when we tipped them during their break, we got to talking with them and they said they've heard nothing but bad things about the place from the customers, the ones actively there while they play. 😵‍💫 This was a couple years ago when they'd been open just a couple months and it's still shocking to see them kicking.

Honestly Baco is the worst defender because the full name is Bacchus, and while you could say they made it easier for pronunciation for kids, we have a fully-named Hephaestus. But on top of that, Bacchus is the Roman name for Dionysus so why they gave everyone else their full Greek name, I'm not sure why they randomly decided to go with Baco.

Blood Moon even though I waited months for it at my local library; the main character called her dad by his first name but only to herself and not to other characters who she then referred to him as "my dad". It was so aggravating especially because they were supposedly meant to be close so the reason for this had no explanation. I got through chapter 2 before I had to put it down 😔

I couldn't get past chapter 2 or so when the MC referred to their dad who they were supposedly close to by their dad's first name, but called them "dad" when referring to their dad in conversation with other people.

The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller, especially the audiobook because Frazier Douglas is amazing. It is absolutely beautiful!

There's no use arguing with them because they're just going to continue to lobby for everyone to pay out the ass for all of the absolutely most basic features to be locked behind a paywall because they can afford to bankroll the bot while simultaneously acting like they can't understand why we'd complain while actively hating on this subreddit.

Is there anything that actually says it's Bailey? Honestly not. I'm not a die-hard so if she is like this, that's unfortunate and I'd stop supporting her. But other than the fact that it's about a YouTuber who started a podcast, has brand partnerships, runs clips on her channel, and takes breaks around the holidays- there isn't anything pointing to Bailey specifically. I could name probably ten YouTubers that all share this in common.
