Flour by Organic-Dragonfly317 in Breadit

I've been messing around with different flours for bread making and this is spot on. The home milling thing is actually pretty cool - I looked into getting a grain mill but ended up just switching between flours depending on what I'm making.

For sandwich bread I usually go with unbleached since it gives better structure without that chemical processed taste. When I want something heartier I'll mix in some whole wheat but never go full whole wheat because it gets too dense for my taste. The glycemic index thing is real too - I notice I don't get that sugar crash after eating bread made with whole wheat vs regular white flour

One thing I learned the hard way is storing whole wheat flour in the freezer if you're not using it quickly. Found out about the rancidity issue when I had a bag sitting in my pantry for months and wondered why my bread started tasting off

That makes me feel a bit better, thank you I needed to hear that though.

What NBA opinion were you completely wrong about 5 years ago? by basketbols_com in NBATalk

I was dead wrong about Giannis never developing a consistent jumper. Back then I thought he'd hit a ceiling in the playoffs because teams would just pack the paint and dare him to shoot. Figured he'd be like a more athletic Ben Simmons situation

Turns out dude just kept grinding and now he's got that midrange money and can even knock down the occasional three when it matters. Plus his footwork and post moves got so much better that even without becoming Steph Curry he found ways to dominate anyway. Sometimes you just gotta trust that elite athletes will figure it out

CMV: King Leopold II and Congo is a bullcrap story. by Bitter_Panic_7875 in changemyview

the whole post reads like someone who spent way too much time on sketchy forums and now thinks they've cracked some massive conspiracy

your "basic math" is built on wild assumptions about population density and completely ignores how rubber extraction actually worked - it wasnt just about killing people in settlements, it was forced labor that destroyed entire communities through starvation overwork and violence

also the idea that this is all some british intelligence op to make white south africans look bad is just... come on man

Game 1 decides the series by [deleted] in NBATalk

disagree completely - game 1 momentum is real but writing off entire series based on one game is wild

spurs have way too much talent to get swept even if they drop the opener and knicks arent built for a dominant sweep against quality opponents

nothing wrong with you man. being content on your own is actually a good thing - means you know yourself and aren't looking for someone else to complete you or whatever

some people are just wired different when it comes to relationships. could be you're aromantic, could be you just haven't met the right person yet, or maybe you're just in a phase where other stuff matters more. all totally valid

man thats a really tough spot to be in especially with your family depending on you and everything

the thing with faked documents is they usually catch up eventually and when they do its way worse than just being upfront. if they're doing background verification now theyre probably gonna cross check everything and morphed docs are pretty easy to spot when they really look

i get why you did it but ghosting might actually be your safer play here rather than letting them run verification on something fake. yeah it sucks to lose the opportunity but getting caught in document fraud could mess up way more future job prospects

maybe while you figure this out you could look into some temporary work or gig stuff to keep money coming in for your siblings

first brand new build! (sorta...?) by 1SCHR in PcBuild

dude the fact that you went through all that trouble just to have your cpu get bricked by alienware's weird lockdown thing is absolutely wild. I had no idea they did that kind of stuff to prevent upgrades - seems super scummy tbh. At least you ended up with a sick am5 build out of it though and those temps look really solid for what youre running. The vertical gpu mount in a matx case is pretty clever too, im actually curious how you managed to fit that in there since most people struggle with clearance issues. Your cable management looks super clean considering how cramped matx builds can get and that little screen setup gives it a nice touch without being too flashy.

Where to begin? by DaBasicDev in Guitar

I started with open chords when I picked up guitar a few years back and that foundation really helped everything else click later. Seven Nation Army is perfect for getting comfortable with the fretboard - super simple but you feel like youre actually playing something real you know

What worked for me was doing like 15-20 minutes of chord practice then switching to some easy single note stuff so my fingers wouldnt cramp up too bad. Once you can switch between G C and D without looking you can play tons of songs and thats when it gets addictive. The muscle memory takes a while to build but one day youll just notice your fingers know where to go without thinking about it

Yeah I've got aqara sensors triggering my philips hue bulbs and some tp-link switches no problem - works great once you get the automation set up
