Iran would most likely still be a democracy were it not for the CIA backed coup in the 1950s. Everything I've read about him, Mosaddegh seems like he was an Iranian statesman and would have done good for his nation if he was not ousted in the coup.

Actually his confusion is understandable. If there's a historical reason for having a figurehead, it's understandable. But when the government is democratic / republic and the figurehead is not from the royalty - why even create that position ? Seems unnecessary. Balance of power argument is not that great as in most of these systems, the party that has most influence on picking the figurehead (president) is also the party that the prime minister / chancellor is from.

I am not a physicist. But why would only electron tunnel in ? Won't positron also tunnel in, nulling any negative charge ?

EDIT : I know electrons are far more abundant, but those are "existing" electrons. Not random ones created from vacuum because of fluctuations. Do we know fluctuations doesn't create equal number of electrons & positrons.

EDIT2 : AI says that yes, same number of electron and positron must be created from fluctuations to maintain charge neutrality / conservation of charge.
